Oatmeal Butterscotch Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2007
These cookies taste great, just as I remember as a kid. However, my cookies spread significantly and were very thin and lacy. I prefer a somewhat thicker cookie, and after adding extra four to the remaining dough, had the perfect oatmel butterscotch cookie. I would strongly suggest adding an additional 1/2 cup of flour to the batter for thicker cookies that don't spread too much.

Glazed Almond Bundt Cake

Reviewed: May 13, 2004
this is a delicious cake. It is very moist and looks incredible. The taste is fabulous if you are an almond lover. It only took my cake about 45 minutes to bake, and next time I would probably poke the cake with a skewer before pouring glaze over.

Dill Vegetable Dip

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2009
This was very easy recipe to make. I am not a mayonaise fan, but I really liked it in this dip. I made the recipe exactly as stated. It was very easy to put together with most ingredients I already had on hand. I made it the night before my daughter's 5th birthday party and it tasted great the next day. I think next time I might double the amount of onion I use because I really like onion, but otherwise a really simple and yummy dip.

Mazarin Cake I

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2009
This was a delicious dessert! I made it exactly as stated in the recipe except I used 2 tsp. of sugar in the shortdough crust and I did not include the lemon zest in the almond paste filling. It looked really pretty on the plate dusted with powdered sugar. I think it needs the powdered sugar for an extra touch of sweetness. Two of my three kids loved it, and so did I. The texture was wonderful. It is not meant to be a traditional "cake", and the texture is smooth and creamy with the yummy crust beneath. The only thing I can think to improve this would be to use a tart pan instead of a springform pan (it would be prettier in presentation) and perhaps to top the filling with sliced almonds prior to baking. This woul give it a very pretty top and add some texture (if you like that) to the creamy filling.

Mini Chip Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2005
I made this cookie today because I was looking for a way to use up some buttermilk I had in my refrigerator. This was a very good chocolate chip cookie, but I'm somewhat confused by the name. I thought it would have a sugar cookie taste, with chocolate chips. However, it tasted like a regular chocolate chip cookie. Tastes very good, but not different from other chocolate chip cookies. Also, my batch made a little over four dozen, not the three dozen stated in the recipe.

Pineapple Sirloin Skewers

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2007
This is very good! I bought a cheaper cut of meat, and could only marinate for three hours, but it was still very tasty. I added a chopped red pepper to the skewers and not only did they taste great, but they looked pretty also. Definitely will put this into my grill rotation of recipes!

Sugar Cookie Icing

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2009
Not only does this icing look fantastic, but it is super easy to work with and tastes great! I will definitely use it from now on for cookies that look and taste great! I needed and extra teaspoon of milk, but otherwise made the recipe exactly as stated. I also tried it with vanilla and it is good that way, too. What I love is that you can spread this on the cookie with a knife, and after you let it set, it smoothes out and looks shiny and perfect. Highly, highly recommend this recipe!

Lemon Gold Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2008
This is a very good cake. It is not very lemony, but light and tasty. I made it exactly as stated, except I greased and floured the two cake pans instead of using parchment paper. They turned out really nice and pretty. In the picture tha cake looks white, but is really a nice pale yellow color. This would be a great cake with vanilla buttercream frosting, or as a homemade white cake. Really good and clean tastes.

Cinnamon Cream Syrup

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2006
I made this to go with the Almond French toast also from this site and it was awesome. Very rich and delicious. It took me about ten minutes for the syrup to thicken, but other than that followed the recipe excatly as stated. I actually made it the night before, and after being in the refrigerator it became VERY thick (like butter or margarine!). It would have made a delicious spread, but I microwaved it until it softened and thinned out. Absolutely yummy!

Jen's Almond Cardamom Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2005
This is a very tasty and delicious cookie. It is soft and cakelike in texture, and is delicious for dunking in milk, coffee, or tea. It is an adult tasting cookie, being that it is plain and all of the flavor comes from the simple ingredients. Very easy to make and very yummy.

Strawberry Spinach Salad I

Flourless Chocolate Cake I

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2011
This is so absolutely delicious and decadent. I made the recipe exactly as stated, except I used a 10-inch springform pan wrapped in foil. It tastes so rich. I made sure my butter was at room temperature and I sat my eggs out to get close to room temperature as I made the cake. Really, really worth the price of the ingredients!

Peanut Butter and Cream Brownies

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2010
Wow! Delicious and rich! I made this to take to a neighbor for dessert and it was well received by all the adults there! Rich, fudgy, peanut buttery! I was worried at first that the topping would be overpowering, because there is so much, but it was perfect. It seemed like a creamy peanut butter pie with a brownie crust (though thicker than a crust!) If you are a peanut butter and chocolte lover, this recipe is for you!

Apple 'n' Pepper Saute

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2009
This had a very "off" taste. Neither my husband or I liked it at all. It smelled great while cooking. I wish I had stopped after sauteeing everything and just added a little salt and pepper instead of the soy sauce and spices.

Simple Scones

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2007
I made these this morning to take to a family brunch. I made the almond cherry version and this was my first time ever making scones. They turned out amazing!!! I made it exactly as stated except that I added about a tablespoon of almond paste with the butter and used turbinado sugar to sprinkle on top instead of regular granulated sugar. Everyone who ate one said they were amazing. My father-in-law said that he didn't usually like scones because they were usually dry, but these were moist and yummy. Definitely will make these again and again.

Golden Wedding Punch

This was easy and delicious! I didn't want a bubbly punch for my brunch so I gave this one a try. Wow! From my son to my husband's grandparents, everyone loved it. I made a half batch and it was all gone! Delicious.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Ice Cream Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2003
This recipe is absolutely the best! It looks fancy and tastes delicious! I used vanilla ice cream on the bottom and chocolate ice cream for the scoops, which gave it a pretty two colored appearance. I also warmed the hot fudge slightly in the microwave to make it easier to spread. Excellent! My husband said it was better than any store or restaurant bought ice cream cake! A definite keeper!

Quinoa and Black Beans

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2013
I made this exactly as stated but with only one can of the beans. This was okay, but just very bland. I wanted more flavor. Will keep looking for a tasty quinoa recipe.
