Creamy Frosting

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2000
This frosting tastes good, but takes some time to make. You have to allow enough time for the milk and flour mixture to cool. It definitely looks fluffy, but it also glistened and looked as though it were melting. Neat if you want something to look like snow or you can't refrigerate a whipped topping.

Chocolate Torte

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2000
This is an elegant looking cake that tastes delicious. It is not too sweet, but very tasty. It looks like you made a real fuss, but it is extremely easy! My husband proclaimed it a "must make!"

Chocolate Lovers' Favorite Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2003
I have made this cake several times and always get comments along the line of, "this isn't just a regular chocolate cake." It is absolutely the most chocolatey and delicious chocolate cake I have ever tried.

these are very fun and easy to make. My three year old son helped me make them when his cousins visited, and they were gobbled up quickly! Quite chocolatey and good!

Chocolate Chip Cookie Ice Cream Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2003
This recipe is absolutely the best! It looks fancy and tastes delicious! I used vanilla ice cream on the bottom and chocolate ice cream for the scoops, which gave it a pretty two colored appearance. I also warmed the hot fudge slightly in the microwave to make it easier to spread. Excellent! My husband said it was better than any store or restaurant bought ice cream cake! A definite keeper!

Acorn Squash

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2003
This is delicious and so simple. I used a little more brown sugar than called for in the recipe because I like squash sweet. It was delicious!

Eggnog Quick Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2003
I made this with leftover Eggnog at Christmas time and it was very good. I took the advice of adding 3 T. oil to the bread. It had a somewhat crumbly texture, but tasted just like eggnog in bread form. Very good.

Baked Ziti I

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2003
Wow! If I could give this more stars, I would! It is delicious!!! I made it for the first time last night for my husband and father-in-law and both raved about it. I substituted hot sausage for the ground hamburger and it was incredible. Will definitely make this one again and again and again!

Chicken and Bow Tie Pasta

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2003
This is a favorite in our house right now. My husband hs told many of his family and friends about it and requests it often. I think it is good, although slightly bland. The sauce could use a little more seasoning. but really very good on the whole.

Mom's Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2003
I stopped looking for a soft, yummy chocolate chip cookie recipe once i tried this one. Very good flavor, they turn out thick (not thin like some recipes) and soft, too! Excellent chocolate chip cookie.

Glazed Almond Bundt Cake

Reviewed: May 13, 2004
this is a delicious cake. It is very moist and looks incredible. The taste is fabulous if you are an almond lover. It only took my cake about 45 minutes to bake, and next time I would probably poke the cake with a skewer before pouring glaze over.

Aunt Johnnie's Pound Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2004
This cake is delicious! I did use 1 tsp. of vanilla and 1 tsp. of almond extract instead of the 2 tsp. of almond extract. I also added 1 tsp. of cinnamon because I was serving it with spiced peaches. It came out wonderful. It makes a large cake that has a sweet crunchy outside and a dense, smooth inside. My husband took the leftover cake (plain) to work and received many compliments. I was a bit skeptical about baking it at such a low temperature, but it turned out perfect. Will make again for sure!

Mini Chip Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2005
I made this cookie today because I was looking for a way to use up some buttermilk I had in my refrigerator. This was a very good chocolate chip cookie, but I'm somewhat confused by the name. I thought it would have a sugar cookie taste, with chocolate chips. However, it tasted like a regular chocolate chip cookie. Tastes very good, but not different from other chocolate chip cookies. Also, my batch made a little over four dozen, not the three dozen stated in the recipe.

Cathy's Banana Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2005
This is an excellent banana bread recipe. I just made it again for the second time! It is very moist, sweeet, and delicious! I added chopped pecans because banana bread should be made with nuts, and it was so yummy. I made this recipe into mini muffins (without nuts) for my kids, and they loved them, especially my 11 month old daughter! Any time she sees one she reaches out her hand for one and puts up a huge fuss. So good.

Lemon Lush

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2005
This is a very rich and sweet dessert. I loved the buttery crust with the creamy filling and topping. Very child friendly. I cut the recipe in half and made it in an 11 x 7 inch pan, and it worked great. It was nice to not make a huge dessert when I was just making it for my family. Reminded me of an Easter dessert.

Broccoli and Ramen Noodle Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2005
Excellent!!! I had this salad at family gatherings but had never gotten the recipe. I finally found it! This salad is sooo good. I substituted cashews for the peanuts but otherwise made it exactly the same. Really tasty!
