Sweet Potato and Carrot Soup with Cardamom

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2013
This soup was delicious! Pureeing it made it smooth and the flavor was phenomenal. I left out the tumeric & red pepper flakes because I didn't have any, but this soup was still very tasty and the cayenne gave it the zing I wanted. Instead of plain yogurt, we stirred in a little half & half just before eating it, which made it nice and creamy. Very filling. My husband and I wanted to eat the entire batch, but we saved half for our lunch tomorrow - took a lot of will power to do that! :)

Golden Chicken and Autumn Vegetables

I left out the beans because I didn't have any, but otherwise followed the recipe and this was delicious!! My husband and I gobbled it up.

Salmon with Lemon and Dill

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2013
This was delicious! The flavor combinations worked so well together. I tend to do a lot of eyeballing when cooking, so didn't follow this recipe exactly, but mine turned out amazing and I'll be making it again. One thing I did differently - I just dropped pats of butter all over the salmon instead of pre-melting it, figuring it would melt quick enough once in the oven.

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2012
Best sugar cookie recipe I've found yet. Not only did these hold their shape while baking (hint: put the sheet of cut out cookies in the fridge for a few minutes to firm up before putting them in the oven!) but they tasted great - they came out soft and chewy, yet still firm enough to hold together while being frosted. This is now one of my favorite cookies to make!

Baked Potato Soup I

Reviewed: May 24, 2012
This is a delicious recipe - one my entire family will eat. I used bacon bits from the store, since I had that on hand from a previous recipe. Also, I added the sour cream and green onions to each bowl instead of mixing it into the stock pot due to individual family preferences.

Sugar Cookie Drops

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2011
These are fantastic! Probably the best sugar cookie recipe I've ever tried. I made this exactly to the directions, except I did toss in a little extra flour, maybe a couple tablespoons, because it looked just a tad sticky. I used canola oil as the vegetable oil. The cookies turned out just perfect - not too sweet, crunchy on the outside, chewy on the inside, and they melt-in-your mouth! I used a baking stone and cooked the first batch for 10 minutes and subsequent batches for nine, and they were just right! I took them to a group event and they were gobbled right up, many coming back for 2nds or even 3rds!

Krystal's Perfect Marinade for BBQ or Grilled Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2011
I followed the recipe exactly except for the sesame oil, which I didn't have. It was fantastic! The chicken was so so tender and very full of flavor. A little saltier than I usually cook, but such a tasty treat, it was worth the extra sodium. :) Our guests had thirds!! We didn't have a single bite of chicken left over.

Italian Peas

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2010
This dish is amazing. Even my kids will eat peas when I make them this way! I rarely have chicken stock on hand, so I just shake a few chicken stock granules in and add a tablespoon or two of water.

Awesome Red Wine Pot Roast

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2009
I made this exactly as listed except I only added carrots, I was out of potatoes and onion and we were snowed in! This was the best roast I've made yet! Very tender and full of flavor.

French Toast I

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2009
Yum! This recipe gives good coverage for the number of slices recommended. I doubled everything and it was perfect! This tasted just like the French toast my mom made - my favorite breakfast food growing up (even though we usually ate it for dinner!)

Shortbread Cutouts

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2009
This recipe is so simple and easy to make and it makes delicious shortbread! The key to cutting shapes and transferring them to the baking tray is to use a thin spatula and cut it under the cookie - no crumbling that way!

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2009
This recipe deserves its five star rating in the thousands! I made per recipe, only adding a dash of vanilla and cinnamon to the batter. The crumble topping is perfect - load it on, the muffin absorbs some as it bakes, so it looks like you have way too much, but in the end it is just perfect! Be sure to take the muffins out before the top gets too brown though. Yum - my entire family loves these muffins, including my two very picky preschool boys!

Savory Garlic Marinated Steaks

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2009
Delicious! My husband claimed it was the best steak I've made yet! I left out the smoke and used dried minced onion instead of onion powder. I also only marinated for 5 hours, but I tenderized the meat and turned it every hour and it still turned out very tender. I'm saving this recipe for sure!

Never Enough Green Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2008
This was delicious! I used Kraft American cheese slices (one slice per can of green beans) because I forgot to get some Velveeta, but it seemed to work just fine. Everyone gobbled it up! The bacon is a really nice touch.

Never Fail Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2008
These really are delicious! I used a bit less salt, as the first batch came out a little too salty, but apart from that, these were perfect - soft insides and slightly crunchy outside! My husband loved them, and he doesn't even like cookies!
