Mocha Coffee

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2008
This was a very good mocha for a simple home-made recipe. I like it because it calls for simple ingredients that I'll definitely have in my kitchen. I tried the full amount of cocoa and didn't think it was too chocolaty at all. This recipe isn't nearly as good as a mocha from a real coffee shop, but it is very good.

This was a good recipe. Goes well with marinara sauce.

Peanut Butter Bars I

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2008
These tasted good, but were EXTREMELY crumbly. I halved the recipe and used an 8x8 pan, but those were the only changes I made to the recipe, besides chilling the dough for a few minutes before adding the chocolate, like other reviewers suggested. I chilled the bars for about two hours, and when I sliced them, the chocolate broke into pieces, which made it hard to have even bars. The bars didn't have much flavor right after they were chilled, but I liked them a lot more once they had been in room temperature for several hours and the chocolate had softened a bit.

Blonde Brownies I

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2008
FANTASTIC!! I almost always bake chocolate-themed desserts, but I tried this and now it's one of the best desserts I've ever made!! Very moist and soft, and the chocolate is a nice complement to the bar overall. Will most DEFINITELY be making these again.

Easy Mexican Hot Chocolate

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2008
I thought this was good. Strong cinnamon-chocolate taste, but there were small chunks of something (maybe clumped cinnamon?) in the drink. I liked how the ingredients were easy to find, I didn't have to go out and buy something when I felt like making this one night.

Pecan Chewies

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2008
These were not bad. They were VERY chewy, though, almost tough. They also weren't as sweet as I expected.

Marble Squares I

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2008
These were good, but not great. I thought they were WAY too brown-sugary - the dough was almost caramelized. I also had a lot of trouble getting the chocolate chips to melt.

Chocolate Crinkles III

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2008
EXCELLENT. My family says these are the best things I've ever baked, and I bake a lot. Seeing the complaints about stickiness, I greased the pans with extra butter and I still had some slight problems getting them off the pan. I also prefer larger, flatter cookies over the nearly spherical ones you see in pictures, so I flattened them out a lot before baking, which didn't affect the baking time at all. I uploaded a pic of my flattened cookies if anyone wants to see the difference.

Good cookies - not especially good, but it is nice to eat cold, refrigerated cookies in the summer.

Fresh Rhubarb Pie

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2008
FANTASTIC recipe! I made it for my friend, whose favorite dessert is rhubarb pie, and he said it was the best he'd had in years. I also served it to people who had never tried it or even didn't like it, and they all went back for seconds. Thank you!!
