About this Cook
I live with my wonderful husband in Miami Lakes, FL. When I have time from working, I love to make good food. I want to learn to be a great cook and hopefully pass on some good receipes to my future children. My passion and love is baking. I bakes cookies, cakes, pies.....etc. I love it and love sharing my goodies with friends and family. My family loves to eat so I want to learn to make an awesome meal for them one day.
My favorite things to cook
I love baking. I love making cookies, cakes and cupcakes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family is Peruvian. Growing up I learned from my mom, aunt and grandmother. I remember baking a cake with my mom and making cookies with my aunt. My grandmother's beef stew and chicken with rice will always stay with me.
My cooking triumphs
I bake and make yummy sweets and treats for friends and family. I have a good collection of recipes that I love and cherish! Having people ask me to bake for parties is a big triumph!
My cooking tragedies
OMG...I used when it called for real butter. What a disaster~!!!! And then I made Cupcakes with Splenda...DOUBLE DISASTER! I learned, if I am gonna bake...just stick to using the real stuff!

Orange Cake
The cake was awesome. I used Orange Zest and Orange Extract since many said that the cake didn't taste as Orange as they wanted. The cake was really moist and it tasted very good. A good cake to have with tea or coffee. YUM!

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies
Okay so the trick with this cookie was refrigerating the dough for like 30 mins. The first time I made it, it puffed up and was like a cakey mess. I put them in the refrigerator and then tried it again and they came out awesome. Also I think you have to roll them fairly thin too. It was good. The flavor was ok. I would've preferred something more tastier. New time I will add lemon zest or orange zest....as other pointed out.

Raspberry and Almond Shortbread Thumbprints
OMG...What a great cookie! I am only sorry I didn't make more. These were sooooo good. Make sure you use Almond Extract. I like other's used other types of jams. I used Apricot, Orange, Strawberry and Raspberry. Raspberry was my favorite. These were sooo good! OMG, and I thought they were going to be horrible since some people here said that the jam went all over. Nope for me it was perfect. I used the back of a teaspoon to make the thumbprint and I added the jam and baked. They smelled so good too! I will certainly be making these again for any occasion. I got RAVE reviews. In time they get soft and just even better. This is the perfect tea time cookie!!!
