Pumpkin Apple Streusel Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2011
OMG!!! I just made this tonight and it is the best quick bread I have ever had in my life! I left off the streusel because of comments that it made it too sweet. I agree, it would be too sweet for me with it on and I like my sweets sweet. Followed the recipe to the letter using Honeycrisp apples. They were a bit cooked down, but blended in nicely with the texture and super moist bread. Made in my Pain de Mie (Pullman) pan without the lid for about 1 1/2 hours at 350, but my oven tends to run cool. Made a georgeous, tall loaf that will be perfect toasted tomorrow morning for breakfast! Thanks so much JES55, this recipe rocks!!!

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2011
I followed the mixer directions, didn't change a thing in the recipe and they were AWESOME!! I followed the advice to flip the pan, which I kept flipped for 15-20 minutes. After I rolled it all up, I lengthened the roll to about 26 inches just by gently stretching then cut into 16 portions which fit perfectly in the 9x13 pan. I doubled the icing and there was still half left after a generous topping! Next time I will experiment by adding a bit more butter when rolled out and 50% more sugar/cinnamon filling. Overall, this is a keeper!

Homemade Crispy Seasoned French Fries

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2010
I have been looking for a french fry recipe forever that actually crisps the fries and is not terribly greasy. Here we have another failure. I have tried this recipe numerous times exactly as written. The only thing I have changed is the temp of my oil. At 375 degrees, they are somewhat edible. My 3 daughters took one bite and that was all they could get down. So I'll keep looking for a good recipe.

Rich Chocolate Frosting

Reviewed: May 18, 2009
I needed a frosting that would hold up in 80 degree temps and this did so beautifully! It was delecious and very chocolatey. I made it the night before and put it in the fridge overnight. When I went to use it, it needed to be beat again. It piped beautifully and was very good!

Cream Cheese Frosting II

Reviewed: May 18, 2009
I was looking for a frosting that would hold up in 80 degree temps, and this did so beautifully! Everyone loved the very real cream cheese taste. Big Hit! I made it then put it in the fridge covered overnight so that it would pipe easier. It was still a little thin for my liking, but I was out of time and piped it anyway. It held up very well and was delecious!

Cinnamon Candy Apple Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2009
My mom handed this recipe down to me, but we use lemon jello instead. The cinnamon candies never melt all the way and never use a metal spoon for serving. It liquifies the jello for some reason.
