Best Bread Machine Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2013
I have been trying to make bread for years in my machine with very limited success. This one came out great though. Really perfect sandwich bread. I subbed a cup each of bread flour, all purpose, and whole wheat. I also cut the sugar down to a short Tbs. and put in a bit of honey with the yeast. It rose nicely and evenly, and it tastes delicious. Thanks! This will be a weekly recipe for me!

Coconut Tofu Keema

Reviewed: May 14, 2012
Maybe I did something wrong, but I followed these directions more or less to the letter, and did not much enjoy the result. If I were to do it again, I wouldn't use canned tomato sauce -- maybe try tomato paste.

Slow Cooker Lentils and Sausage

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2011
I think this was simple, cheap, and delicious. I sauteed up some onion, and added a dash of cayenne to those, and I used veggie broth and turkey sausage because that is what I like. I also used canned tomatoes with peppers, and didn't drain them. It had a really nice kick and was a perfect winter dish. I was happy to eat leftovers for three days. I only gave it a 4 instead of 5 because i think without the added spice it may have been a bit bland, but with these minor changes it was pretty amazing, so it would probably be good.

Broiled Grapefruit Crisp

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2010
This would have been delicious, but mine burnt in under 4 minutes in the broiler. I also thought the topping was enough for 2 grapefruit. I added cloves and nutmeg. I will make it again, though, with changes.

Easy Chocolate Covered Coconut Macaroons

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2010
These were great. I didn't even use the milk, and the chocolate was perfect. I baked them at 250 for 20 minutes. I did this because i was reading two recipes at once by accident, but the texture was so perfect, i will always use this recipe/temp mixture from now on.

Jen's Fresh and Spicy Salsa

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2009
So hot! The flavor combination was delicious and fresh, but i only added one seeded jalepeno, and it still had a strong kick. Like others, I did not find any need for the hot sauce. I also used red onion and fresh garlic and blanched and peeled the tomatoes. It was really fresh-tasting and delicious. My 4-star rating is with my level of spice, and not the listed recipe's level. It would just be too hot as listed. I am bringing to a party today, so we will see how it is accepted!
