About this Cook
Married 29 year old, looking forward to trying new recipes that I may not always eat, due to fat content. My Fiancee is a firefighter so I need to cook him hearty meals that will help keep in energized and in good shape. I try to alter recipes when I can for a lower fat/calories count when possible.
My favorite things to cook
I LOVE to bake. My Fiancee loves all the cookies I make. I have started a new family tradition of homemade caramel rolls on Christmas morning. People request that I bring my chocolate chip cookies, because they are so tasty and stay so moist!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Homemade Cinnamon rolls for Christmas, Chocolate Chip Cookies, Banana nut or Banana chocolate chip bread, quiches, cakes, etc. I am famous for taking the day off before Thanksgiving and baking 5 Pecan Pies and a couple Better than sex cakes for all the stops we have to make!
My cooking triumphs
I have to say that most things I bake/cook come out pretty tasty. I may get a comment here or there from the Finacee about what he would like better next time, but for the most part it's all pretty good!
My cooking tragedies
I think there has only been 2 tragedies: once I made a beef stroganoff that had wine in it...2 words...NOT GOOD! The second was that for about 1 month all of the cookies I made would bake flat...they would never rise. I bought new flour and everything went back to normal. I came to find out the my roommate was putting the flour in the freezer.

Chocolate Revel Bars
This recipe is WONDERFUL!!! I made it for a baby shower, and was asked for the recipe several times. I was suprised to see that all I brought home was the empty pan! Per other reviews I did only add 2 cups of flour and I also pressed the mix into a Jelly Roll pan and placed in the fridge for 2-3 hours. I then made the fudge, poured over batter, dropped the extra batter mix and baked for 30 minutes! I let it cool until the next morning, cut and was on my merry way! Will defintley make this recipe again, per my husband's request!

French Silk Chocolate Pie I
This pie was DELICIOUS!!! I did make some variations like many others. I doubled the recipe with the exceptionof only 1 cup of sugar. Probably after the 3rd minute into the 3rd egg is when the grittiness of the sugar really started to go away. I used a frozen pie crust baked in the oven, lite cool whip and half a Hershey cholocate bar for garnish on the top! My husband told me the pie was better then Baker's Square! Thank you!

Amber's Sesame Chicken
We make this on Chinese nights, and my husband loves it. I would love to try and bake the chicken to cut out some of the oil, but have not tried that yet.
