About this Cook
I love to bake and cook but hate the clean up!!! I still have a 20 year old daughter and a 22 year old son living at home. My daughter is in college. I love the outdoors and like to do crafts also. Cross-stiching is one of them. I love to read Stephen King books along with Dean Koontz, my only problem is I have run of their books to read. My favorite seasons are fall and spring. LOVE CHRISTMAS!!!!! I love having my family around and enjoy cooking and baking for them. I also have 5 grandchildren who love to visit us. Grandchildren are a blessing from God as rewards for raising your own children. I enjoy doing activities with them, especially around the holidays, since my older children never inherited my enthusiasm for holiday activites, such as going to places to look at decorations, etc.
My favorite things to cook
I like cooking pasta meals and stick to your ribs casseroles. Comfort foods that make you feel good especially when it's cold outside
My favorite family cooking traditions
My traditions are usually baking cookies with my children and grandchildren around the holidays. My mother never inherited her mothers baking and cooking skills. My grandmother could make anything from nothing and everything was always made from scratch. Miss both of them very much!!
My cooking triumphs
I do not think I ever attempted anything too extravagant yet, but I think when I first started making homemade bread, cinnamon rolls, etc and having them turn out.
My cooking tragedies
I do remember one time making bread and it turning out rock hard!! Harder than sourdough bread!!! Also trying some new recipes that my family didn't care for too much. I have a meat and potato family, cannot make anything too out of the ordinary, except for casseroles, etc. They do not like any unusual spices or seasonings that relate to cumin or anything like that, so I have a hard time making different things for dinners.

Slow Cooker BBQ Chicken
Just wanted to say that this is absolutely delicious!! I didn't have any bottled bbq sauce so I made my own. I did't have any bottled Italian dressing either, so I made the good seasons Italian dressing. I was a little worried about adding more brown sugar because my bbq sauce already had it in it and worcestershire sauce also, but I followed the recipe exactly and I also shredded the chicken and put it back in and let it cook for another hour or so and it was awesome! Thanks for a great recipe and I made Belles hamburger buns to put it on. Yum! I made macaroni salad and baked beans with this as sides. Very good!

Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue
My husband could not stop raving about this dinner! As soon as he walked in the house after work he kept saying how delicious it smelled. I used Sweet Baby Rays honey barbecue sauce and I also added liquid smoke, chopped onion, cayenne pepper and garlic cloves as other readers did. I only used 3 chicken breasts and my sauce was not runny at all. In fact it was really thick. I do not know if it was the barbecue sauce but, it was fantastic! I used Belles hamburger bun recipe and this was a great hit. Will definitely continue using this all the time. Thank you for the great recipe!

Belle's Hamburger Buns
I made these last night for the first time and got great reviews. The only thing I might change is save the 1/2 cup of flour for kneading. I kneaded mine until the dough was elastic and smooth like my bread dough I make, which is about 4 mins or so. I thought the 10 mins. was a little long. They came out great and will use this recipe all the time. I used them for zesty slow cooker barbecue chicken and they were a hit! Thank you for a great recipe.
