About this Cook
I don't care to spend lots of time in the kitchen, but I want my family to eat well. So I'm always looking for quick, simple, and delicious recipes to fix. We're a busy family and have little time to spend in the kitchen.
My favorite things to cook
Anything in the slow-cooker; or one-dish meals. Also, my family loves a good soup and I love cooking soups. They're easy, delicious, and make use of all the leftovers in the fridge.
My favorite family cooking traditions
We always fix the traditional Thanksgiving dinner; and at Christmas, my new tradition has become corned beef and cabbage thanks to the great recipes on this website. And we have grilled T-bone and crab legs or lobster for New Year's Eve.
My cooking triumphs
Chili is one of my specialities; Also, I make a mean ham, green bean, and potato soup! Yumm!!!
My cooking tragedies
I'm not much of a baker. Anything that has to be treated delicately, is not my forte...

Bill's Sausage Gravy
This is essentially the same as the recipe I've used for years, except I omit the butter to avoid the extra fat and you don't really have to remove the sausage. Just mix in flour with sausage once the sausage is completely cooked. Stir around completely until sausage is completely coated and all grease is soaked up. Then, add milk, sage, black pepper, and cayenne pepper and cook until thickness you desire is achieved. If not enough gravy, add more milk and continue cooking until thickness is achieved and pour over hot biscuits or toast (SOS). Excellent.

Sweet Sausage Rolls
I made this for the kids thinking they would love it. They would hardly eat it. I guess it's just a difference of tastes. We did not care for it, a strange sweetness didn't seem to go with these sausages.
