despite my young age i have been cooking everything from stews to chicken fettuchini for @ least 4-5 years now, i honestly cant remember when i started cooking. living on a farm with my entire family on the fields planting and harvesting, i taught myself to cook using knowledge learnt watching my mother and guessing the rest, i rarely used recipes for meals but i do enjoy recipes for baking and trying different cultural meals.
My favorite things to cook
i love cooking anything gourmet or different from my cultures traditional foods. although mennonite foods are very good, most are also very rich. i do keep balanced meals and try to be healthy. i love trying new things especially italian and mexican foods!
My favorite family cooking traditions
mennonite: goose breasts with mashed potatoes, bubbat=(a dumpling type of raisin dough; replaces stuffing)
mash potatoes with cream gravy and fresh peas, garden vegetables and farmers sausage.
marinaded roast beef, potatoes, and a rich brown gravy made with the left over beef marinade.
