Argentine Lentil Stew

Reviewed: May 23, 2009
This was very good, but turned out more like a soup. I respected the directions, but in retrospect the quart of water might have been too much, as the other ingredients give out juice also (tomatoes etc). The paprika does not come through at all when you use just the half a teaspoon. The apples stayed a bit hard, but that might have been that I used red delicious, while granny smith are better for cooking. Very good and healthy dish otherwise.

Meatloaf Muffins

Reviewed: May 23, 2009
This was as good as meatloaf gets. I gave it only 4 stars because personally I prefer the meatloaves where you brown the beef first. My husband on the other side, prefers it this way, and it was delicious, though a bit too moist for me. I did not make it into muffins, but into a loaf as usual. Kids loved it also.

Asiago Sun-Dried Tomato Pasta

Reviewed: May 21, 2009
Very yummy but definitely not worth the work for me. At one point I had 3 pots on the stove, the oven on (roasting the chicken) and the microwave on too (only because I did myself a favor and bought the bacon pre-cooked), and kids to watch, so that spelt trouble. Had I known it took so long to make, I'd have gone out to an italian restaurant instead... H7Th hubby and kids weren't even crazy about this dish.

Campbell's® Healthy Request® Chicken and Pasta Primavera

Reviewed: May 20, 2009
This was delicious but indeed very bland. I knew it would be, so that was no surprise. A great way to get green veggies into little tummies :)

Golden Mushroom Pork & Apples

Reviewed: May 18, 2009
I didn't think it lacked flavor. My only advice is to trim the fat off the pork, because after cooking for 9h the pieces of apple turned translucent and hard to distinguish from the pieces of fat that fell off the pork chops. Also, omit the water - even without it it was more runny than it should be.

Fresh Asparagus Risotto

Reviewed: May 17, 2009
This had the perfect taste and consistency a risotto should have. A bit hard to make, but worth the half an hour of standing by the stove. Everyone liked it, big and small. Healthy too!

Pork Chops to Live For

Reviewed: May 9, 2009
This was very good. The only thing I would change is use less milk because it was way too soupy. It tasted great though.

Apple and Orange Chicken

Reviewed: May 9, 2009
This was absolutely delicious, very moist and flavorful. The only thing I would change is replacing the dry soup mixes with my own spices, as I think that unnecessarily adds to the cost. I also used worcesteshire sauce instead of the soy sauce. Will make again.

Portobello Mushroom Chili

Reviewed: May 5, 2009
Very good as written. I omitted the cayenne pepper, but did everything else as written, except maybe cooking it longer. It turned out a bit soupy because I did not drain the tomatoes - you should drain them. Yummy and healthy.

Enchiladas

Reviewed: May 2, 2009
Very easy and very good! Not a fancy meal, but for a quick mid-week meal it works great. I love finding a recipe with few ingredients and that tastes great! I recommend buying a quality enchilada sauce, because that makes all the difference.

Flat Iron Steak with Three Pepper Rub

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2009
This was by far the best steak on the grill I had, short of teryiaki steak which is my personal favorite. For someone who prefers thin, well done steaks, it can't get any better than this. We will most likely only have these two from now on! so yummy.

Chipotle Crusted Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2009
This was delicious with a salad and veggies or mash potatoes on a summer night. Feels light enough, but is a very hearty meal. Great flavor.

Meatloaf with Fried Onions and Ranch Seasoning

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2009
Excellent and very easy to make. Despite the whole can of french fried onions, it doesn't taste like onions at all. We all devoured it. I would only add a glaze of ketchup + sugar.

Leek and Cheese Quiche

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2009
This was a miss and a mess. After putting the leeks and cheese in the pie crust, there was little room left, so I had to throw out most of the organic eggs and cream mixture. What a waste of the eggs and expensive cheese. It took longer to cook, it was runny and nobody liked it. Please skip this one.

Heavenly Potatoes and Ham

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2009
This recipe is an absolute disaster if you make it as written. First, 5 lb of potatoes, 2 cups of this and 2 of that, all in a 9x13 baking dish?? Not so. Then, after 30 min the potatoes were raw and needed another 30 for thorough cooking. With these modifications (plus skipping the butter altogether), it was yummy.

Easy Slow Cooker Carne Guisada

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2009
This was so good, I could barely stop eating. Mild spicy flavor and a hearty all-in-one meal. My only comment is that the sauce was a bit soupy, otherwise it tasted perfect.

Peppers Roasted with Garlic, Basil and Tomatoes

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2009
Not sure what I did wrong, but the garlic instead of turning out roasted, it tasted sort of boiled... I was expecting the nice and crisp texture of roasted garlic. Other than that, a very nice appetizer and the whole house smells delicious :)

Southwestern Cauliflower and Ham Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2009
This yielded a lot more than 4 servings, at least with the changes I made: used a whole cauliflower head, as I have no idea how much 3.5 cups is. I used a whole package of roasted garlic potato flakes, and it turned out very thick and yummy. It was great and will make again.

Pepperoncini Beef

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2009
I did not use this as sandwich meat, but had it on a bed of mash potatoes and it was delicious! I wish I had leftover for sandwiches, but there weren't any :) The garlic turned a fosforescent yellow/green, which impressed the little ones into trying it, yet it was not so spicy as to turn them off. You don't get this type of meal with 5 minutes flat of preparation! Will make again.
