About this Cook
I live in wet Western Washington with my husband, my cat, and a bunch of caged reptiles and amphibians.
My favorite things to cook
Cookies! I have come up with an excellent recipe for snickerdoodles (which are almost always eaten up by my family within hours of being made and get their magic from a tremendous amount of butter). I also love to pan fry a chicken breast in butter, then add a splash of soy sauce and sesame oil.
My cooking tragedies
I have mangled quite a few fried eggs, burnt some toast, and turned out a couple loose jell-o salads but that is about it. I have never had a huge cooking catastrophe. I did try to make brittle once and ended up with a sort of crumbly praline, but I sot of knew that wouldn't turn out. I am glad to say I have never lit the house on fire or poisoned my family.

Southern Hollandaise Sauce
This is so yummy! It separated once but I added a splash of cold water and whisked really fast, just like one reviewer said to do. It saved the sauce!

Pan-Seared Tilapia
This was so good! This was my first time cooking fish and it turned out great! Next time, I am going to make a butter sauce to go over it. Yummm :)

Spiced Pumpkin Seeds
These were very good! The seeds were crunchy and just a little salty. I added a little more garlic salt and sauce than this recipe called for, and I also used butter instead of margarine (butter tastes better in my opinion). I will definitely make these next year!
