I live in wet Western Washington with my husband, my cat, and a bunch of caged reptiles and amphibians. Cookies! I have come up with an excellent recipe for snickerdoodles (which are almost always eaten up by my family within hours of being made and get their magic from a tremendous amount of butter). I also love to pan fry a chicken breast in butter, then add a splash of soy sauce and sesame oil. I have mangled quite a few fried eggs, burnt some toast, and turned out a couple loose jell-o salads but that is about it. I have never had a huge cooking catastrophe. I did try to make brittle once and ended up with a sort of crumbly praline, but I sot of knew that wouldn't turn out. I am glad to say I have never lit the house on fire or poisoned my family.
