Italian Style Flounder

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2012
Tasty. I customized it by adding fresh garlic and basil. Yummy. It made a nice fish sauce. With white wine.

Simple Turkey Chili

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2010
a good simple recipe. punch it up with as much seasoning as you think you'd like. definitely go easy on the 2d cup of water - its definitely watery with that second cup. I froze 2-3 servings of leftovers in little Ziploc bags and have been enjoying this over the last few weeks.

Broccoli Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2009
yum. very simple and hearty. i made this without red onion, bacon or sunflower kernels. I don't like the first and didn't have the last two. I added extra broccoli and used half mayo, half plain yogurt (tangy), a little less sugar, cider vinegar and craisins. And I added a couple walnuts. Ok, its not the same recipe anymore but thanks for the framework. Hubby microwaved his serving and thought it was better that way - I ate it cold in a warm pita pocket.. YUM!

Gramma's Apple Bread Pudding

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2009
I love this recipe and I make it all the time.. I give it 4-stars b/c I think it is overly-sweet as written. But when I make my adjustments, it is a 5-star dessert! I use about 4-5cups bread and about 3/4 cup sugar. I always toss in extra apple chunks and cinnamon. I use the ends of whole wheat bread and have even used oatmeal and nut breads.

Mediterranean Vegetable Stew

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2009
loved this recipe. I did not have red onion (hate it), chickpeas, fresh rosemary or fresh parsley: I subbed in yellow onion, red kidney beans, dried parsley, then tossed in a yellow squash that was looking mutinous in the crisper - the squash added great color. I went light on the olives (1/4 cup) only b/c I got tried of pitting them (bought the wrong bottle). yummy!! love this.

Chicken Breasts with Balsamic Vinegar and Garlic

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2009
I don't usually like chicken breast but this was quick. And a 1-pot, no fuss meal since I used pre-sliced white mushrooms. I had mistakenly pre-seasoned my chicken for something else so I plan to to make this again and pre-season with just garlic before pan sauteeing. Yum!

Brown Sugar Oatmeal Pancakes

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2008
Made this with whole grain oats & all-purpose flour as it was all I had. Also subbed milk with 1 tbsp vinegar for buttermilk as recommended by others and used 1tbsp less sugar. It was yummy but... a little too sweet to eat with maple syrup. I would def. make it again, but with less sugar. For the whole oats, I boiled them in water for 5 mins to soften before mixing in with flour et al.
