Brown Rice
Great base recipe and nice flavor minus the Worcestershire sauce & soy sauce. The first time I cooked it I made it with all the ingredients and found it a tad spicy. I never had 2 hours or the patience to make rice so I'm rating this on the way I have made it; which is on the stove top. Directions: 1)Melt 2 Tbsps of butter over medium heat. Once melted, saute the rice until starting to brown 3-5 min; stirring frequently so that it won't burn. 2) Add the can of beef broth and can of french onion soup (omit Worcestershire, soy sauce and pepper), stir to combine, bring to a boil, lower heat to Low, cover and cook 20 min. Let stand for 10 min with lid on, fluff with a fork and serve.

Moist and Savory Stuffing
Good basic recipe but here are some modifications that will jazz it up! 1) I bake it in the oven which means you cut the broth back to a cup. Saute 1 small onion, chopped and 2 celery stalks chopped in 1/4 cup melted butter. Add 1 tsp ground sage, stir everything together and bake for 30-40 min at 350. I haven't tried it yet but thinking of adding an egg as a binder. Very traditional and tastes like my moms!

Favorite Old Fashioned Gingerbread
This was a heavenly cake! I did follow the advice of other users and doubled the ginger and cinnamon, added 1/2 cup applesauce to make the cake extra moist, and checked it after 45 min to make sure it didn't burn. I won't ever use another recipe! This was the base for my Pumpkin Gingerbread Trifle-gingerbread cake, pumpkin custard and fresh whipped cream! YUM! I love the fall!
