Butter Icing for Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2010
This is a great recipe. I agree with everyone else, I used a teaspoon- NOT a whole tablespoon of pure vanilla extract. I didn't have a problem with the brown icing with just a teaspoon. This makes a great thick frosting (my husband made it this way) but I thinned it out and it also made a terrific glaze. Thanks!

Soft Christmas Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2010
Wow. These are terrific! If your dough was "crumbly", I don't think you mixed your dry ingredients well enough. I had the same problem but kept with the mixer...and the dough was perfect. I also did the butter and 375* for 9 minutes. This will be my Christmas cookie for years to come!

German Baby

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2011
YUM. I warmed up the milk and eggs like others suggested and made the recipe exactly. I served it with leftover pineapple I had in the fridge that I warmed it up with butter, cinnamon and brown sugar and it made a lovely syrup. Thank you!!

Brown Sugar Banana Nut Bread I

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2011
Warm, dense, sticky, delicious! Everything you'd want in a banana nut bread. Very easy to make and the house smelled AMAZING. I was actually mad at my husband for burning his grilled cheese afterward- it took away the lingering smell of this delicious bread. Thanks for the recipe!

Crescent-Wrapped Brie

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2011
Super yummy- just don't brush it with the ENTIRE egg like I did (that was dumb) the outside got done way before the inside had a chance to melt. I just popped it in the microwave for a minute and no one knew the difference. But delicious! -Oh, and I also cut it in half and spooned some apricot preserves in the middle, made a sandwich and then wrapped. Super good.

Oreo™ Cookie Bark

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2010
This is a naughty, naughty candy. I couldn't stop eating it! Everyone told me I should be a professional candy maker, I didn't tell them it was only 2 ingredients! I used almond bark and christmas oreos with red filling. They came out beautiful. So easy, too! This is a must try.

Tangy Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2011
YUM! I added a splash of vinegar (to combat the sweetness, like over reviewers stated) and a hefty pinch of red pepper flakes. It doesn't look creamy at all after its cooked- it was just like sweet and sour sauce from Chinese places. Thanks! Hubby loved it, too.

Ultimate Party Meatballs

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2011
These are my favorite appetizer to make. Super easy, always a crowed pleaser. I've even made these with the frozen vegetarian meatballs for the non-meat eaters and they went crazy for them! Go figure. :) At home we eat them as a main dish over buttered egg noodles. Love em!

Suzy's Mashed Red Potatoes

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2011
Yummy! Great, classic potatoes. Like someone else said- don't add garlic unless you want garlic redskins, obviously. For just plain ol' good creamy potatoes, this is the best recipe I've ever found. My husband kept sneaking into the fridge to eat cold spoonfuls later that night!

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2011
Wow! This was everything a pot pie should be. I was worried about it being too dry, but I didn't have a problem with the recipe as directed. I didn't let the roux get TOO thick, I think that helped to not have it be dry at all. Thanks! We're stuffed!

Nana's Acorn Squash

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2011
Ohhhh my. This is better than I could have imagined! It might be the size of the squash we had (I guess I didn't realize) but it was a tad sweet (ok, really sweet, but isn't that what makes it good?) but I made sure to use salted butter and lots of pepper and it was amazing. Husband had never had it and kept saying "I think I found a new favorite food!" Thanks for the recipe, this one is a definite keeper!

Overnight Cinnamon Rolls II

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2011
Oh. My. Lawd. This is fantastic! Really does taste like homemade bread. I made it exactly as written but only used 10 rolls because there are only two of us. It was just one layer around the bottom of my bundt pan, but by morning they had risen and filled the whole pan and looked great! I made a cream cheese glaze. Im expecting a baby, but I know this will be our new Christmas morning tradition! What kid wouldn't want this?!

Slow Cooker Pinto Bean Bonanza

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2011
Yummy! I couldn't really taste any bacon, so that could probably be left out next time. I also used cloves of garlic and a whole onion because that's what I had on hand. This made the house smell great! Served it with tortilla chips and sour cream, easy inexpensive dinner.

PJ's Sweet Potato Mash

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2010
Why is it that everyone who gave this less than 5 stars didn't follow the recipe correctly? Don't leave this and that out- and then complain that it isn't good. I followed this to a T and it was phenomenal. Thanks!
