Butter Icing for Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2010
This is a great recipe. I agree with everyone else, I used a teaspoon- NOT a whole tablespoon of pure vanilla extract. I didn't have a problem with the brown icing with just a teaspoon. This makes a great thick frosting (my husband made it this way) but I thinned it out and it also made a terrific glaze. Thanks!

Soft Christmas Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2010
Wow. These are terrific! If your dough was "crumbly", I don't think you mixed your dry ingredients well enough. I had the same problem but kept with the mixer...and the dough was perfect. I also did the butter and 375* for 9 minutes. This will be my Christmas cookie for years to come!

PJ's Sweet Potato Mash

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2010
Why is it that everyone who gave this less than 5 stars didn't follow the recipe correctly? Don't leave this and that out- and then complain that it isn't good. I followed this to a T and it was phenomenal. Thanks!

Oreo™ Cookie Bark

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2010
This is a naughty, naughty candy. I couldn't stop eating it! Everyone told me I should be a professional candy maker, I didn't tell them it was only 2 ingredients! I used almond bark and christmas oreos with red filling. They came out beautiful. So easy, too! This is a must try.

Hungarian Mushroom Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2010
This was wonderful! I was actually missing the paprika (which i'm assuming is a very important part) and it was still good. Can't wait to try this the way the recipe calls for!

Cola Pork Chops

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2010
Not sure why people are so into this....ours were very tough and just tasted like pork chops covered in ketchup. I'm used to my pork chops being fall off the bone good...and these are not.

German Spaetzle Dumplings

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2010
Amazing! Just like in Germany. Made it exactly and it came out great- next time I might use a bit more nutmeg because I didn't taste it much. Fried it in bacon fat and added fresh grated parmesan cheese- nothing low fat here! Also made a tradition German brown gravy to go with. Thanks for the easy recipe!

Delicious. Tasted fresh it was very easy. I was lazy and ran hot water over the ravioli, saved time and tasted the same.

Antipasto Squares

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2010
Amazing! These will go very fast at any gathering, and they do well at room temperature. A little expensive, but well worth it. I made it exactly as directed in a glass baking dish and it came out fine- no hassling with pre-baking the bottom. Do yourself a favor and try these.

Summer Pasta Salad I

Reviewed: May 26, 2010
Delicious! I had this at a recent potluck, and I was searching for a similar recipe. This is much better! The dressing is great. I strayed from the recipe a bit and added feta cheese but it would have probably been better without it. A+, this is my new go-to pasta salad.

Easy Meatloaf

Reviewed: May 20, 2010
This meatloaf is the absolute best. I won't use another recipe. The topping is wonderful, much better than plain ol' ketchup. I made as directed and didn't stray from the recipe- it is outstanding. My hubby asks for it constantly!

Alyson's Broccoli Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2010
This is a great recipe! We used to make this at a cafe as a daily special, and it sold out EVERY week! People would actually call a day ahead to reserve it. The only thing we did different is that we added shredded cheddar cheese and served it in a fresh baked pita. We tried it with grapes, and it was not well received (I agree, the raisins are better!) Makes a delicious, colorful salad.
