Buttermilk Scones

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2009
Great basis for a scone recipe...I add 2 Tbsp of sugar to give it a little more flavor, and about a 1 1/2 cups of fresh fruit, like blueberries or apples added before the wet ingredients are mixed in (otherwise it is very hard to get them mixed in the dough) With apples I also add about 2 tsp of cinnamon, which makes some beautiful scones! Thanks!

South African Malvapoeding (Marshmallow Pudding)

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2009
Really yummy recipe...Just to clear things up, the word "pudding" in British/South African English means "dessert", so all you Americans out there can stop being confused by the description already. Use regular flour if you want, and put your sugar in the blender to make it superfine. Follow the instructions and you won't go wrong! Thanks!

Asian Cucumber Thai Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2009
Really great recipe and really easy! I just threw everything together and let it sit for about 30 minutes before dinner. I made it mostly because I didn't have all the fancy schmancy stuff in other similar recipes, and would make it again even if I did have that other stuff. We didn't even use the peanuts or mint, and thought is was really yummy! Thanks!

Stovetop Granola

Reviewed: May 27, 2009
Really great simple recipe! I made this one morning for my husband for breakfast and since then we have been eating it almost every morning with yogurt. I use 3 cups of oatmeal because we like it a little less sweet, but it works great with either 2 or 4 also. I toast my almonds with the oats, and never really take the time to bake it...I just let the trays sit out on my counter for awhile to dry out (saves energy and doesn't make the kitchen so hot!) Thanks for the great recipe!
