Country lady!
About this Cook
I love to experment by making different foods for me and my kids. I sometimes grab something out of the frig and add whatever I have in my cubbards to the dish(as long as the tastes go great together) and throw the stuff in a pot and let it cook away, with some seasonings to go with it of course!
My favorite things to cook
I love cooking soups, american dinners, chinese food sometimes(my 12 yr old doesn't like it!), mexican food, and at times some asain dishes, and of course just my own creations!!
My favorite family cooking traditions
We have always cooked the traditional turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes and gravy, green bean caserole and roles for dinner on EVERY Thanksgiving! Don't forget the pumpkin pie and apple pie!
My cooking triumphs
I cooked a soupe just yesterday with ground beef, frozen veggies, potatoes, beef broth and half a cabbage and it turned out great! We all have 2nd's or 3rd's of it. Sooooo warming on a cold nite!
My cooking tragedies
I am not very good at baking breads and homeade roles. Not sure what I do wrong. I do let them rise according to the directions. I just suck at bakin!!! LOL I stick to buying the ones you just heat -n- serve!! LOL

Cheese Corn Spoon Bread
I doubled the recipe and added a package of taco seasoning and small can of sliced black olives to give it a mexican zing. It was very good! Made it tonight with my baked seasoned pork steak.

Marcia's Company Casserole
I omitted the butter totally. Didn't see any need for it at all. I added 1 tbsp of garlic, tsp oregano, and parsley, 1 cp ricotta cheese in place of the cottage cheese, and 3/4 cp sour cream for the cheese mixture. I mixed in 1 can rotell with 1 1/2 lbs of ground meat instead of the 1 lb ground meat. I layered the nooodles, cheese mix, and meat, topped with mozzerella cheese, then repeated a second time. Left everything else the same in the recipe! I did let it sit for about 15 minutes to cool. YUM YUM!

Artichoke & Spinach Dip Restaurant Style
I accidentally grabbed the can of Hearts of Palm instead of the Artichoke Hearts at the grocery store!! But I used them anyways and they worked just as well and were 60 cents cheaper at Price Chopper! I also used 1 tbsp of garlic powder and used 8 oz of cream cheese. It came out very good!!
