Golden Sweet Cornbread

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2011
Very Good!!! I was looking for a sweeter cornbread recipe and this is it. I would use just regular cornmeal. I used stone ground coarse and it had a bitter aftertaste. Very light and crumbly. A little honey and you are ready to go.

Caramel Popcorn

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2011
I would give this recipe ten stars if I could. I agree with everyone. This is fantastic. I made my popcorn the old fashion way, in a pot , on the stove. I have never made caramel corn and this was really easy. I did keep popcorn warm as another review suggested. It worked perfect. I cooked mine for 45 min. and it was great!! Thanks for a wonderful recipe.

Jim's Cheddar Onion Soda Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2011
Great recipe. Really good flavor. I used green onion and med. sharp cheddar. I wondered about the confectioners sugar, but it was just the right amount and complemented the savory. I wanted mine to be a loaf shape and the dough was a little stiff, so I added more buttermilk and put in loaf pan. It came out perfect. It may have been a finer crumb than this recipe, but it was great!! Thanks for the recipe. Its a keeper.

Golden Cakes

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2011
I am giving 4 stars because I didn't make cupcakes. I used an 11x7 inch glass pan. It came out ok, but a little dry. With cupcakes you wouldn't have to cook as long. I frosted with a broiled coconut frosting and that was delicious. Good combo. This reminds me of a coffee cake. I will try the cupcakes next time. Sorry!!

Cheese and Bacon Potato Rounds

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2011
This is a quick and delicious recipe. I used veg. oil instead of butter. I thought that would smoke less. My husband loved them and much easier than potato skins. Thanks for the great recipe.

Restaurant-Style Buffalo Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2011
Made these for superbowl and they were great. I have never made chicken wings before. I have an electric fryer and they came out very crispy and even in the sauce they stayed crispy. Next time I will try to bake them and see what happens per another review. This is a keeper. Thank you Kelly.

Chinese Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2011
Yummy, yummy, yummy. I made these for superbowl and they were great. I didn't have 5 pounds of chick. wings so I poured some of the marinade off before baking. I also added a little rice wine vinegar to marinade. They were sweet, sticky and delicious. Thanks for the great recipe.

Asian Orange Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2011
Great orange taste!! I used 1/2c. water, 1/2c. chicken broth and 1/2c. orange juice and the rest of the wet ingred. This was delicious and my husband loved it. Per the reviews I used the egg white before the flour and I used garlic granules in the flour with salt and pepper. The review that said to reduce the conrstarch was right. I used 2 1/2 tsps. I also kept the chicken warm in the oven and made the sauce, then tossed together before serving. Great recipe. Thank you Harry.

Banana Pudding Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2010
I gave this a five because I changed it a little. I used a banana cake mix and added diced banana (in addition to the mashed banana) and walnuts to the cake mix. I think it would not have much of a banana taste with the yellow cake mix. It was moist and had a moderate banana taste. I baked in a 9x13 pan. You do not want to overcook!!.

Oatmeal Peanut Butter Cookies III

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2010
OMG, These are the best pb cookies ever. I used chunky pb in the cookie batter. I used all natural pb in the filling. Wow!! These cookies are great without the filling. I made them both ways. The filling is pretty rich, so I would make the cookies small to use the filling. If not, go for it. Thanks for the recipe Joanne.

Granny Kat's Pumpkin Roll

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2010
Very Very Good!!! This roll comes out very moist. I used the parchment paper on the bottom and it did stick a little to the cake. I think the parchment on top when you roll in towel makes the roll very moist. The filling is very good. I would use a little less than I made. The suggestion to put the filling in frig. before spreading is a good idea. It spreads nicely after refrig. not to stiff. Thanks Granny Kat for the great recipe.

Steakhouse Black Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2010
I have to say this turned out better than I thought it would. I made it by hand (mixer) not bread machine. Proofed yeast in coffee. I didn't read the review that said don't make coffee very strong. Needless to say I did. I had to add alot more sugar to the mix to cancel some of the bitter coffee taste. It didn't rise very high, so I shaped into loaf pan and let rise again and it looked beautiful. It did turn out pretty well after all was said and done.
