I am the head cook for a seniors lodge. We have 50 residents that I cook for on a fulltime basis. It's the most fulfilling job I've ever had....food is so important to seniors in a facility like ours. Meals are usually the highlight of their day.

I love baking fresh breads, muffins, desserts...making homemade perogies and cabbage rolls for my residents.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I grew up on a farm and had a lot of Menonite and Ukrainian influence in my learned skills since my step mother was Menonite and my father was Ukrainian. Everything was homecooked from bread to canned fruit and vegetables. I was fortunate enough to have learned to do it all! *smile* We did everything including picking berries in the summer and milking our cows.
