About this Cook
My husband and I have been together for 28 years. We have 2 grown sons. They are 20 and 24. No, grandchildren yet. Hoping someday we will.
My favorite things to cook
Beef&Noodles,Lasagna,MeatLoaf,Roast with veggies in the crockpot,Ribs. I LOVE to bake!Brownies,Cakes,CheeseCake,Cookies,Keeflees,Pastries and Pies. I live in Northern Indiana when it starts to get cold my oven goes on! It one sure way to get the boys home!
My favorite family cooking traditions
We make home made pizzas. My husband and I make his "from the old country" spaghetti sauce. Better than any jar of restaurant. Making Keeflees is a 2 day process. 1st day is making the dough and rolling walnut size balls. on day 2 if you come to my house on Keeflee Day you are handed an apron, a bag of dough balls,a rolling pin and confectionary sugar.
My cooking triumphs
My son was hit Christmas Eve by a drunk driver. We put everything in the fridge, we we're baking Keeflees when the ER called. Came home at midnight and baked Keeflees til 4 A.M. Didn't burn a single batch it was a great distraction!
My cooking tragedies
Leaving the boiled potatos in the hot water while I finished up the rest of the Thanksgiving meal. Thought they would stay hot! Big Mistake! It would have been great wallpaper paste! That was 15 years ago and I still hear about! Have never made that mistake again!

Hungarian Flourless Hazelnut Cake
This is so my mother-in-laws Nut Torte cake! She got it from her mother-in-law who was Hungarian over 50 years ago! This is also the birthday cake she makes for all of us! Sometimes it is 2 layers and other times it is 3 layers. I love this cake. She frost it with frosting that is cooked on the stove. Enjoy!!

Manicotti Italian Casserole
In our home this is called "Pasta Bake". The only thing I add extra is cut up green pepper and a cup of parmesan cheese. I even made this for my sister's family while visiting them. The loved it too! Everyone that has ever been to our home and had this has loved it! If there are leftovers it never makes it to the next day. We serve this with garlic toast and a nice green salad. Cheap, quick, easy and it "tastes so good"!!
