I made the above mentioned recipe for dinner yesterday. I love Guinness, so I used that for the liquid instead of beer. I also didn't want to lose a single drop of Guinness to foaming, so I gently poured it into a slightly tilted bowl, which I then transferred
(gently again) to the stew…

My favorite things to cook
I love cooking chili, soups, and brownies. I have also come to enjoy cooking with squash immensely. My current favorite meal to throw together includes the cranberry sauce chicken II and autumn squash recipes from this very website.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Our family is just starting out, but we do make pecan pie every Thanksgiving and buckeye candies every year for Christmas. We've also taken to having pizza most Fridays, a tradition which our two year old is very enthusiastic about (she loves her "pita!").
My cooking triumphs
I once managed to pull off a cranberry orange roast chicken for Thanksgiving. More recently, I made a very tasty dinner of cranberry chicken, acorn squash, spinach with shallots, and biscuits. I have made the family turkey for the past two years in a row, which was met with rave reviews. Finally, I have started learning how to use an icing bag and decorating tips to decorate cupcakes.
My cooking tragedies
While making cranberry sauce chicken, I used a too-shallow baking dish and ended up with a very smokey home as the sauce bubbled over and burned on the bottom of my oven. The neighbors probably thought I had set the kitchen on fire. Fortunately, it was just my sauce!
