Baked Slow Cooker Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2008
I was so surprised how moist the chicken was. Here's what I did. I used a 5.5 lb chicken and rubbed rosemary, thyme, chevril & marjoram on outside along with sea salt on outside and inside of cavity, pepper and some texas spice rub. On the bottom of the crockpot I put a bag of baby carrots, whole onion, large garlic clove pressed, few potatoes halved, little worcestershire & few drops lemon juice. I put it on high for an hour and then on low for about 8.5 or 9 hrs. Toward the end I added some chicken base to the juices. The chicken remained intact and was great. As leftovers, I made gravy from leftover juices with water & flour. Had to make more gravy to add. I cut up the baby carrots, onions and potatoes and chicken. Added all this to store bought pie crusts. Baked at 425 for 20 min then 350 for 25 min. It was awesome! Best pot pie I've ever tasted! Served with cabbage salad. YUM!!

GrannyLin's Barbeque Ribs Made Easy

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2010
I just made some country style ribs in the crockpot today and wondered if there was a recipe out there for it. I found this one and decided to give my version. I sprinkled the ribs with a little liquid smoke and then grilled them on a hot grill for the grill marks. I then added them to the crock pot with a bottle of Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce and they cooked on low for 6-7 hrs. I didn't add anything else, but onion would have probably been good. You don't need to add water, because it makes more liquid as it cooks. The ribs I bought had the bone in them. They were falling apart and the sauce was very nice and tasty. Really easy way to make ribs.

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2013
I followed the recipe and I've made it twice. Personally, I think it is too sweet. I'm looking for a more savory recipe. I made sure I drained the root beer off thoroughly before adding the BBQ sauce. The tenderloin is good. Note sure it's worth wasting that much money...

Apple Shortbread Pie

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2013
Really like this recipe. I've made it twice and everyone likes it. I like the fact that it doesn't have shortening like a regular pie crust. I prefer to have good old butter. Easy to make too. I used Macintosh apples and they turned out nice. Also want to note that I used way more apples based on previous reviews.
