Slow Cooker Oatmeal

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2014
the oatmeal haters in our house love this! I add the salt to the crockpot while it is cooking and omit the sugar because the kids like to add chocolate chips to theirs!

Italian Dressing Mix

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2011
This is absolutely perfect. I live in a house with multiple food allergies and it is hard to find good allergy free salad dressings...I do agree with some of the other reviewers, the salt is off the charts in this recipe. I use 2 tsp of salt, not 2 Tbls. It comes out perfect everytime!

Cinnamon Rolls I

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2010
OMG. These were sinful. I did add my own tweaks based on some of the other user comments: 1. I measured out the 1/4 c sugar for the dough and from that I added 1 tsp to the warm water for the yeast. The sugar will help the yeast bloom. 2. I added 2 T Crisco to the bread dough. 3. I doubled the filling mix and added 1/2 c chopped pecans. 4. Used a 9x13 pan but will use a cookie sheet next time. 5. baked at 350 for 20 minutes. I finished them off with a Brown sugar caramel: 1/4 c butter, 1 c brown sugar, 2 T skim milk, 1 tsp vanilla. Melt the butter and sugar in a heavy sauce pan. Stir constantly, and bring to a boil. Turn off heat and drizzle in milk and vanilla. Turn heat back on low and cook until sauce thickens. Turn off and let cool and the sauce will thicken more. Spoon over the hot rolls and let set for about 5 minutes....it's heaven!

Pumpkin Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2009
I made this this morning. I omitted the crumbly topping and in the cake batter I used half a can of pumpkin and added 1/2c chopped pecans, and a 6oz bag of chocolate covered cranberries. Baked for 35 minutes at 350 in a 9x13 pan. Then I glazed it with an apple cider glaze. Delish for a Halloween breakfast!

Grandpa's Popcorn Balls

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2008
The taste is amazing, I used vinegar in it so it was more like kettle corn that caramel corn. HOWEVER the recipe never specified where to place the popcorn when you pour the sugar on it. I used the bowl I popped the corn in. BIG HARD MESS! I had to throw out 75% of it because it all stuck to the bowl. I am going to try it again because I want to master this classic snack, and I am going to put the corn on the cookie sheet I will place the balls on to cool that has been lined with a piece of parchment. I also got a tip from my Gramma, who used to make popcorn balls every year, butter your hands before shaping the balls.

Bread Pudding I

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2008
This was very good. I did make 2 modifications to the recipe though. I used a whole wheat challah as the bread, I used about 8 1/2 inch slices. I also substituted the raisins for 2 sliced and peeled apples. It took about 10 minutes longer to cook in the water bath, but it came out fabulously, and the kids and I loved our Saturday breakfast.
