I have lived in North Carolina, Ohio, Tennessee, New Jersey, and now Wisconsin. It has well rounded me in food. I am not picky. Will try anything. And I love to make same old comfort food with a little gourmet touch.
My favorite things to cook
Italian. Living in NJ for most of my teen years has placed Italian food close in my heart. I have such a passion for Italian.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Cookies at Christmas. Going to Nana's in North Carolina when I was little helping make Biscuits and Gravy and flouring the beef for Salisbury Steak.
My cooking triumphs
Making my own sugar cookie recipe making Santa's with royal icing as Christmas presents. Decorated down to the rosy cheeks and gold belt buckle. I had a friend call asking if Martha Stewart was out of jail!
My cooking tragedies
Spending hours and hours of making fresh pasta and filling for ravioli and put them in the pot of water while they separated. I cried!

Maple Roast Turkey and Gravy
I would give this 5 stars but the gravy was too sweet for my taste and my guest. It sucked because we were all looking forward to mashed potatoes with savory gravy but it was more thickened maple syrup. I will make the turkey like this again but will opt out the gravy.

Awesome Sausage, Apple and Cranberry Stuffing
This was great. I didn't stuff the turkey with this so I added more broth and it came out soooo good... Will make every Thanksgiving. I also added chestnuts and fresh herbs instead of dried.

Asian Potato Salad
Wow! I taste tested this and I couldn't stop eating it... Well, Im from all over and have developed certain tastes' for certain items... I lived in the south and I love potato salad traditionally with yellow mustard, mayo, sweet pickles, chives... but I made Asian Flare Spare-Ribs...(recipe I will soon post) where I combined a couple different recipes to make my own delicious slow cooked ribs.. bo again being from south... I wanted potato salad with my ribs and this is a great Asian meal with a southern roots. Thanks!
