Cumin Turkey Burgers

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2009
I just got done eating this! Wow, very, very good! I understand some members get upset that people make modifications but I did and thought they were AWESOME! I only had 1 lb of turkey so I cut back on everything-I used about 1/2 of all the ingredients, had to substitute cayenne pepper for the chili pepper and I added more bread crumbs than the recipe called for. I refrigerated the meat for about 20-30 min's while I got everything else ready and it was real easy to form the patties, which stayed 'together' perfectly. I pan fried these patties instead of grilling and they came out great, they were really moist too. My hubby loved them too....we decided this is the 'way to go' as far as burgers. Better than beef, especially with sauted onions, wheat buns and all the sides!!! Thank you for the recipe!

Sweet and Sour Sauce II

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2009
I made this last night for some egg rolls I had and this was great. I took some ideas from others: cut back a bit on the sugar, used 1/2 brown sugar instead of all white, used the juice from the pineapple and added a bit of soy sauce to it. It really tasted good, wasn't too sweet/sour. Thank you for the recipe!!

Light and Fluffy Spinach Quiche

Reviewed: May 28, 2009
We loved it!! I, like others, did make a couple modifications...I sauted my onions with some left over ham I had, added the extra egg others recommended & cut back, just a bit, w/the mayo. I also made a crust (I learned from pelicangal!) and it was GREAT. Thanx for the recipe, I'll make all my future quiche's w/your ingredients!

Chicken Pot Pie VIII

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2009
Well, I'm not sure where to begin? The flavor for this pie was great except there was too much, to use a pie pan. I used a round cake pan, since it was a little deeper, but it still turned out a bit dry and I didn't even use 3 cups of chicken, I used about 2??? I wish I would have read reviews B4 I made it, so I would have cooked the vegies a bit 1st B4 mixing them in with the sauce, since they were a bit undercooked (even though I ended up cooking this an extra 15 min's. I definently will try this again, except I will use some tips from other reviewers. Regardless, thank you :)

Salisbury Steak

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2009
WOW is all I can say! This is the greatest salisbury steak ever made! I've made it 3x now and we love it! I just remebered, that I never 'rated' it! Well, now that it's 11pm here and I just heated up the leftovers for a 'snack' I thought I'd just tell you I LOVE IT!!!!! The only 'change' I made was to double the sauce, so I'd have enough for all the mashed potatoes, other than that, leave it alone! Thanx!

Ground Turkey Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2009
I was really happy with the way this turned out! Like others I did make some additions to the recipe: I added some chopped onion & grn pepper to the turkey and mixed spaghetti sauce (instead of regular tomatoe sauce) along w/a can of diced tomatoes which almost doubled the amount of sauce like others recommended. To the cream cheese/sr cream mixture I added some chopped grn onion, italian spices, peppers, chives & a handfull of parmasian cheese. It turned out GREAT. My husband went back for second plate THEN went back for #3!!! I definently will make this again. With my Husband going back twice, we still have 1/2 of it left & I can't wait for leftovers tomorrow. Thanx for your recipe.

Sesame Crusted Mahi Mahi with Soy Shiso Ginger Butter Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2008
I just made this & we loved it, but I did something wrong. First of all, I thought the fish I was cooking with was Dorado (Mahi Mahi).. *my husband is a fisherman, so we have all kinds of fish in our freezer* but he had given me sea bass to thaw out last night instead of Dorado. Now don't get me wrong, Sea Bass is a great tasting fish, the only thing is: it's a bit more 'meaty' than Dorado, so this recipe sort of dried it out which Dorado wouldn't have. It still tasted great...my husband & I thought the next time I make it (w/Sea bass) I'd do everything the same, except after searing the fish, I'd put it in the oven w/that great sauce poured over it, so it absorbed some of the sauce, instead of using the sauce just as a side. Other than that, this was great! The sesame seads were great and again the sauce was awesome! Thanx for the recipe.

Ricotta Stuffed Zucchini

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2008
What a great recipe for zucchini, I made this tonight! My husband & I loved it, but I'll be honest, after reading some reviews, I made a few changes. I didn't have any lemons so I sub'd it w/lemon pepper (I never measure spices when it comes to salt & pepper, I just add what I think it 'needs'. I added just a bit of garlic, finely diced up onion, fresh basil & bell peppers (red & green). *I made spaghetti last night, so I had some leftovers of these* When I say a 'bit', the total added items probably equaled a full tbls. I turned out great and will definently make again! Thanx

Shepherd's Pie VI

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2008
I really loved this recipe but did add a couple extras to the mix. Since my husband loves anything/everything with some 'spice' to it, I added 1/2 can of diced tomatoes w/jalapeno's (drained) to the meat mixture which meant a bit more flour was needed to thicken the mixture. The final additions were corn and peas (frozen peas work best, since they're more crisp/sweet then canned)Will definently make again..PS; no need to cook onions in oil B4 adding gr. beef, just cook all together, beef has enough 'fat' to cook it with.
