Married to my college sweet heart. Mother of three boys under 4...but probably not done yet. Work part time but mostly love being home with my kids - we are home bodies. I love this websited and others like it(but this is my fave!!!) I love to try new things and consider myself a life long learner... And I have never joined a online community before.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake!! I also love to make mexican dishes for meals.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Sugar cookies around holidays. (Looking forward to my children's increased involvement in the tradition!)
Pumpkin flavored treats in the fall, grilling in the summer, hot dogs on a camp out, my grandmothers scalloped potatoes at Christmas, my mothers ham and bean soup the next day
My cooking triumphs
Anything that people love and ask for the recipe. But the big one was when my husband's family finally ate my food! My husband's grandmother always makes the pies at family functions. They aren't actually all that good to me - but I didn't grow up on them like everyone else. We had been married for 4 years and everytime I attempted to bring a dessert to a family event I would take all but the one piece I had eaten home. Until I made the "Lemonade Stand Pie." Everyone loved it and asked for the recipe. AND have asked me to make it again one future get togethers...
My cooking tragedies
Oh so many....Just the other day I was attempting to melt some chocolate for drizzling and I said to my husband after it was scorched..."Why do I suck?" But the biggest would be anytime I have attempted Rice Krispie Treats...I don't know the simpliest should be easy right?? I think I rush and try to melt the marshmallows too fast.
