I've just started experimenting with cooking, and I've become obsessed with the food network! I'm learning little by little from television shows and my boyfriend, who is a cook. I'm fully vegetarian, so I'd really like to learn how to make delicious, healthy, and filling all-vegetarian meals and snacks. I'm starting with the basics, and I'm excited to continue experimenting! I'm also very interested in and intrigued by Ayurvedic diets and mindfully enjoying food. One challenge for me is the cost of the food I love (fresh and organic, vegetarian-friendly items), so my goal is to make great food for cheap.
Honey Nut Granola
I made this for my boyfriend as a treat for Valentine's Day - he loves granola more than any other food! And sure enough, he LOVES this recipe! (I do too!) Some adjustments: I used 1 cup of honey (and next time I think I'll use even more). I also used 3/4 cup of apple sauce and just a splash of canola oil. I added roughly smashed cashews, sliced almonds, sunflower seeds, roughly smashed walnuts, and dried, unsweetened coconut. Next time I think I'll add a bit of brown sugar or maple syrup, too.
