I really like to cook...mostly because I really like to eat good food. :) I want to find more recipes to make family dishes that my kids will remember long after they leave home.

I hate when I forget to set the timer for my stove-top rice and end up forgetting it and scorching the bottom.

Nice way to use frozen cod. Served it with mashed potatoes and the whole family loved it, even the young kids. After seeing reviews about it being bland, I added some extra salt to the melted butter before brushing it on. And I really slathered those fillets up, did not hold back. The broil time was less than indicated for me, so I'd suggest checking it after the first 4 minutes. Mine was done in about 6. I also suggest brushing a bit more butter on as soon as it comes out of the oven. Really tasty and, yes, slightly reminiscent of broiled lobster. Adding this to my rotation.

Hot Dog a la Potato
Hot dogs, mashed potatoes, and cheese...what's not to like? Super quick way to use leftover mash. Not the healthiest, but it's hearty and wonderful for lunch on a cold day. Usually my mashed potatoes are pretty rich, so most of the time I don't even add the cheese. Good stuff.

Really easy and tasty. I usually replace the syrup with honey because that's what I have on hand. Also, like others, I only bake it for 17-19 minutes. It might seem too soft when you cut, but it will set as it cools to a firm chewy bar. Any longer in the oven and it tends to end up too crispy or burned, at least in my oven.
