Sean's Falafel and Cucumber Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2010
This is the best falafel recipe that I have ever used. I have made it a few times now and every time I make it, I make a larger quantity because it is never enough! Today I tripled the recipe so we'll see. I cook my own beans and grind the coriander which I think adds to the flavor and I also bake it for health reasons but other than that, I follow the recipe exactly (and I never do that)! You have to try this recipe! Thanks so much for this. It's my husbands favorite. Even my 2 year old eats them right out of the oven. :)

Barbeque Beef Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2009
I'm not sure why this recipe only rates a 4. It's a casserole, and for a casserole it's very good. My whole family ate it and wanted seconds. I did follow others and added garlic and cut the cornbread to one package. I also added creamed corn to the cornbread mix and made this with Boca crumbles instead of meat. It was really good. At the end of dinner I always ask if the dish is a "make again" and this one got a unanimous "yes"! Thanks for the recipe.

Satay Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2009
I used this recipe instead of a more traditional one because I ran out of fish sauce and this uses soy sauce. This recipe is excellent and so easy. I did add 2 tsps of red curry paste and more red pepper than called for. Without these additions it might have been a bit bland. Great recipe!

Jeanie's Falafel

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2009
My son says to give this recipe 6 stars! It was wonderful! I doubled the recipe (for a family of six) and there are no leftovers. Thank you so much for this! I will NEVER use a mix again!

Easy Curried Cauliflower

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2009
This was very good but there was too much cayenne pepper. I will add some coconut milk to it to cut the spice some.

Easy Red Pepper Hummus

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2009
Wow! This is very good. I had leftover grilled eggplant that I used in place of the red peppers. I also added cayenne and cumin at the suggestion of other reviewers. Thanks for the great recipe!

Lentil and Sausage Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2009
Will definitely make this again. Very flavorful and so healthy. I used vegetable broth, veggie/soy chorizo and veggie sausage and added spinach and cracked red pepper. Next time I'll add mushrooms for even more flavor. SO good. Thanks for the great dinner.

Chocolate Cherry Chip Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2009
This was a good cake. I baked it for my son's birthday at his request and we all enjoyed it. I was not a huge fan of the icing and even though we all liked it I'm not sure I'd make it again. Good but not excellent.

Banana Oat Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2009
I'm giving this a 5 because even though I modified some of the recipe...I have never been able to make a decent muffin until now. These are so good, moist and really flavorful.. I added cinnamon and used half wheat flour/half white and half brown/half white sugar. They rose nicely and did not stick to the pan at all. Thanks so much for making me a muffin baker!

Potatoes and Peppers

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2009
I gave this recipe 5 stars and I'm not really sure what the problem was with the other reviews. I have struggled to make a good diner style potato and pepper dish and this is it. I used a well seasoned cast iron skillet and the potatoes came out perfectly. The peppers are tender and the onions are golden. It's fabulous. Flavor is great and it reminds me of my father-in-law's potatoes. He worked as a cook and makes the BEST breakfasts. Thanks so much for this recipe!

Honey Mustard Grilled Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2009
This was okay...not as good as I expected but maybe that was due to my inability to grill. I did use the sauce as a salad dressing and that was good.

I followed the recipe but doubled the garlic as other people suggested. I also pureed the final product and served with rice and peas. Very good and flavorful. The whole family liked it and the house smelled wonderful!

German Apple Cake I

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2009
I love this recipe. I have used pears and apples in it depending on what I have the most of and what is in season. I use applesauce in place of half the fat to make it healthier and cannot taste a difference. It is a wonderful cake! Thanks so much for sharing this. It has become a family favorite.

Lobster Bisque

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2009
This was awesome but I made a lot of changes. I used canned salmon instead of lobster and added dill. I also used shrimp stock instead of the chicken stock. Everyone ate it and asked that I make it again. Great recipe and easy to vary according to what you have on hand.

White Bread For The Bread Machine

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2008
After years of only occasional use of my bread machine, it may overheat soon. This bread has become a staple in our house. I have stopped buying bread at the store. The flavor is great and the texture is fabulous. Make this bread!

The flavor of this bread was very good. I found the texture to be a little dense though...even for rye bread. Could be the baker.

Apple Squares

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2008
I just made these and they are great! To make them a little healthier, I added 2 Tablespoons of applesauce and only used half the butter. I also doubled the apple. They are wonderful and smell so good that my kids came downstairs to ask what I was making. Thanks for the great recipe.

Honey Whole Wheat Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2008
This was the best wheat bread I have ever made. It was so light and soft. My kids loved it. I used the dough setting of my bread machine and then put it in a loaf pan and let it rise. I baked it in the oven at 350 for 35 minutes. That way the shape is better!
