About this Cook
My name is Kara and I enjoy cooking more than anything in the world! Being in the kitchen is my element, and I hope to someday hostess the most exciting wine and appetizer parties! I have a full-time job in substance abuse counseling, in addtion to part-time work modeling for hair magazines. I try to engage in cooking as much as possible in my spare time!
My favorite things to cook
I love to attempt everything, but I really enjoy creating appetizers and casseroles. Anything with vegetables and chicken is always on my list! I like making chinese stir-fries of all varieties and I always try to be fairly health conscious with all of my dishes....but let's be honest, when it comes to baking rich and yummy desserts, ya gotta go with the full fat butter and cream cheese!!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Cooking Thanksgiving dinner is my ultimate favorite meal to put together! I love the chaos of the rush and planning of it all!
My cooking triumphs
Again, Thanksgiving truly is a triumph to cvercome your very first time alone. It's so rewarding to see the final results displayed beautifully on the holiday decorated table knowing you did it out of love and seeing everyone "ooh and ahh" over all the dishes!
My cooking tragedies
I started a fire in the oven just last Christmas morning making Monkey Bread! How embarassing is that? Luckily, my brother is a firefighter!

Best Football Dip Ever
This is definitely a manly football dip! My boyfriend and roommate love this stuff like they're never going to see it again! The only change I made was adding a can of diced tomatoes and peppers, drained (Rotel) instead of the salsa because my guys like it to be more chunky and less runny. Using sausage in place of the burger also adds a zesty change as well. This recipe will be a keeper in my files forever! Thank you so much for sharing!
