Kosher Salt Encrusted Prime Rib Roast

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2010
My brother in law prepared this for Christmas - it's our first home-cooked prime rib and it was SUPERB!!! 5-star restaurant taste and quality! By mixing salt with water makes it easier to coat and prevents the crust from falling apart during cooking. He took it out from the oven at 140F and rested the meat for 30min. The meat was tender and juicy. Simple ingredients and straight forward method. It's a must have recipe for all prime rib lovers!

Oh-So-Good Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2009
This recipe is easy to prepare and delicious! However I did make some changes as there was very little salsa left. I added diced tomatoes & tomato sauce and salt to taste. I also did not mix the rice and cheese to the sauce. Instead, I put rice into the greased casserole, topped with the sauce and sprinkle the chedder cheese on top. Baked in pre-heated oven at 375F for 15min, till cheese melts and bubbly. My husband asked for this to be made again at least once every fortnight!

Frosted Banana Bars

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2008
I am never good at baking as I'm not a precise person, but I took the courage to make this two days ago for my family . Will be making it again today for a friend! It took almost 30-35 min for me instead of 25 to turn brown and passed the toothpick test. Not sure if it's because I kept taking it out to check when it passed the 25min mark. Well this recipe is simple and delicious for people like me. Sure boosted my confidence in baking!

Venison Stew I

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2008
My family loves this dish! Made couple of time already. To add flavour to the stew, I coated it with flour and browned it before putting into the slow cooker, added fresh mushrooms (I'm a mushroom person)and a little red wine just before serving. I also let cook it under med heat as I realised high heat with toughen the stew. Absolutely delicious!

Slow Cooker Apple-Scented Venison Roast

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2008
Finally I tried this recipe and my husband and I were a little skeptical when we jad our first taste on the meat without the sauce. We changed our minds after adding it. It was simply delicious! I added some apple sauce on top of fresh apples and followed the rest of the instructions. We had great sauce for the roast but next time I will peel the skin off the apple before cooking as it was a little messing when I removed it after cooking, and blend onion and garlic and mix with the apple sauce to make the finish texture smoother. An absolute great recipe especially when you have time constrain and want to prepare a nice, decent meal. Definitely will make it again!
