Spicy Grilled Shrimp

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2010
I put all the ingredients in a mini food processor and it came out perfect. Thanks to my husband's perfect grilling technique (top rack, lid closed), this dish was the hit of our friend's BBQ. The shrimp was moist and had just the right amount of heat for everyone.

Beef Stroganoff III

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2011
I thought this tasted more like a beef stew. I had left overs that I added carrots & peas to. Not a bad recipe, just not a real stroganoff (in my opinion)

Cranberry Pistachio Biscotti

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2012
EXCELLENT. The recipes I've tried in the past resulted in very dry & hard cookies. These are awesome! I wanted an almond cookie with almond pieces, so I followed the recipe and added fresh chopped almonds and a few dried cherries. This will be my one and only biscotti recipe.

Heavenly White Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2011
Everyone loved this cake. I too added the extra milk (1.5 cups total) and I also made my own cake flour as I do not buy this (1 cup flour minus 2 TB with 2TB cornstarch added, then sifted 3-5 times). Don't forget to sift the powder & salt together like the recipe calls for. Very dense yet moist. My daughter said it tasted like pound cake! This is a keeper. Thank you for sharing.

Special Buttercream Frosting

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2011
I could only give this 4 stars because I altered the recipe. I have a problem with a frosting being called "butter"cream when there isn't any butter used (and it doesn't remotely taste like buttercream - to me at least). I did what someone else did, I substituted 1 cup of butter for 1 cup of the shortening and it came out with the "butter" taste. Although I make real buttercream frosting, this is so easy and most wouldn't even know the difference, so this will be my frosting for everything except the specialties for which I will stick to my real buttercream recipe. Enjoy. This is good with 1/2 shortening & 1/2 butter.

Baked Delicata Squash with Lime Butter

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2011
I always grow delicata in the garden so we have fresh picked and delicious squash every year! This recipe just makes it better. My 10 year old even enjoyed this. A keeper of a recipe which I will make again & again.

Simple White Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2010
This cake was easy & perfect! I added the extra 1/4 cup milk people suggested. I also did 1 tsp or vanilla & 1 tsp almond, just to add a subtle change in flavor. Use a mixer if you have one. I will keep this as a "I need a cake at the last minute" recipe.

Pork Tenderloin alla Napoli

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2011
Excellent. My boyfriend of 11 years said it tasted like dinner from a restaurant (which made me wonder if he looked at other reviews). The flavors are amazing (and I don't like green olives). Simple and easy to make. I also doubled the sauce which is a great thing to do! Make this, you won't be unhappy.

Blue Cheese Crusted Filet Mignon with Port Wine Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2010
Excellent. I only had enough blue cheese for 1 steak and used goat for the other. My husband liked it with the blue but LOVED it with the goat cheese. Said the blue had too much of a bite with the sauce. The sauce was excellent. I didn't have garlic (used it up at lunch time) but was good without it. This is "a keeper."

Cream Corn Like No Other

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2010
In a word...excellent! I don't know if anyone else mentioned this, but I used corn meal in place of flour. I never use raw flour. I'll make a roux first but was too lazy here. EXCELLENT. I have a new, unique side dish to bring to parties. THANKS

Beet and Pear Puree

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2008
EXCELLENT! started cooking at 6:45am and glad i did...i doubled the recipe for a dinner party tonight and helped myself to some for breakfast - it is that good! i'm sure my company is going to devour it. i am thinking of toasting some walnuts to sprinkle on top to add another layer of both texture and flavor, however, if i don't get around to it, no big deal. it is great just the way it is. thanks for a great recipe.

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2012
This was excellent. I only give 5 stars to really homemade (from all scratch ingredients). I used 1 can of Golden Mushroom soup and added a bit more beef broth (a suggestion by another reviewer - add broth instead of plain water). The only thing I would do next time is use a different broth since the Knors was very salty. The meat as mentioned really did fall apart. I had plenty of gravy from this and didn't need to thicken it up. I did add fresh mushroom as well. I will try this again adding carrots, peas, potatoes and maybe some other veggies to create more of a stew type dish. Thanks for sharing.

Kick butt grilled peaches & cream

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2011
Awesome way to eat peaches during the summer. We really kicked it up with extra cayenne pepper and our guests LOVED this. The hot peaches (not to mention the heat of the cayenne) and the cold sour cream made this an excellent (and elegant) dessert.

Greasy Chicken

This was easy and excellent. TRY THIS RECIPE, you will be pleasantly surprised. This is going to be one of our "need quick" dinners. Maybe changing the name of the recipe will entice more people to look and make the recipe. Also, watch your flame and nothing will burn.
