Ham Pan Sandwiches

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2008
This was awesome!! Made it exactly as the recipe called for, but used colby-jack instead of cheddar, but it was still very, very good! Served with fries, perfect quick meal! Boyfriend loved it.

Original Blue Cheese Coleslaw

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2009
This was soooo good! I liked eating it best right away better than leftover the next day. I omitted the celery and didn't use a mix: instead I just used regular cabbage and a little red onion. I was looking for a way to use up my blue cheese and this is the way to go! Thanks for the recipe, jodi! I will use this again and again -- great twist on ordinary coleslaw!

Blue Cheese Burgers

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2009
I had never had a blue cheese burger before, but now they're my favorite! I loved it. I only used the recipe for my beef patty: I will probably use more cheese next time. I served this with only BBQ sauce on top and it was perfect just like that! I will definitely make this again.

Grilled Brown Sugar Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2010
An easy and trusty recipe! I have made this many times. It's easily adaptable -- if you're feeling garlicky, add some; if you're feeling spicy, add some cayenne. You really can personalize this recipe to your tastes and still get great results!

Grill Dough

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2009
Grilled pizza is now one of my favorite foods :) I added more sugar, as suggested by other reviews, as well as cooking the dough on one side before adding toppings. Other than that I followed the recipe exactly and it turned out very well! I will definitely make this again. I used pesto, fresh tomatoes, bacon, provolone and mozzarella cheeses, and fresh garlic for mine.

Campfire Roasted Potatoes

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2010
Great recipe! If desired, you can reduce the amount of butter used if you're watching your diet. I prefer to use a little more garlic, but only because I'm a garlic lover :) I usually make this on the grill, too, and I usually slice the potatoes instead of chopping them. You can use any kind of potato, not only red potatoes.

Sassy Steak Marinade and Sauce

Reviewed: May 30, 2010
Really, really good! My boyfriend and I were both a little weirded out by the cocktail sauce but I was really wanting to try something different so I just went ahead with this recipe! I followed the recipe exactly except for the mushrooms as we don't like mushrooms. However, I did use onions instead and mixed that in with the boiling sauce. It came out very tasty! We used a good cut of steak and while I did like the sauce, it kind of overpowered the steak's flavor. I would recommend using the recipe for preparing a cheaper cut of steak and you would still get the same results as with a more-expensive cut since the flavor of the marinade is so strong. I will use this recipe again in the future! It would also be good to prepare the marinade and mix into a meatloaf, as well -- just an idea!

The Whole Jar of Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2009
Definitely a keeper! This was my first time making peanut butter cookies and it came out fabulous! I made them for my boyfriend's birthday party and they were ALL eaten up :) I followed some reviewer's advice and used crunchy peanut butter instead of smooth peanut butter and the peanuts. I followed the recipe exactly and will definitely use this one again. One mistake I made was that I refrigerated the dough overnight...this led to the dough being kinda dry and crumbly in the morning when I baked them. But, I just let it sit and warm up at room temperature and added a tiny bit of butter and the dough softened back up and was easy to use. I also had a problem with the dough sticking to my fork, but that too eased up when the dough softened, and I used some non-stick cooking spray on the fork. I usually don't bake but this has provoked me to try something else soon! Made these again on 8/7/10: be sure to stir it up well or else you'll get different batches of cookies like I did! I also used the suggestion for pressing with a sugared fork to prevent them from sticking...this worked really well and I'll do that again next time!

No-Cream Pasta Primavera

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2010
So delicious! I made this just for myself and used up what vegetables I had (broccoli, bell pepper, tomato, carrots, zucchini, onion/garlic) and still used 1 tablespoon of Country Crock (60 calories). I also used spaghetti and lots of garlic (3 cloves) and pepper! I used a couple of fresh basil leaves to top it off, along with a couple dashes of lemon juice. I didn't use balsamic, and since one review suggested leaving it out (but I still wanted it), I improvised with a touch of Newman's Own Light Balsamic Vinaigrette and stirred it in with the vegetables before roasting. I used one tablespoon of olive oil in all and only used it for roasting. Very, very delicious and a great way to eat up all of your vegetables! It looked soooo good on my plate and I ate it so fast!

Detroit Hot Honey Wings

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2010
Delicious and the recipe is perfect! However I used Lawry's instead of regular salt, that's the only change I made! I didn't use Frank's, but Cholula hot sauce and they came out really great! My boyfriend loved them too and even said he liked them better than Buffalo wings; they had more flavor. I will definitely make this again, you could use the sauce for a number of different things! Also, I brushed the wings with a touch of oil before grilling because one reviewer had said their wings had come out a little dry, and I didn't baste with honey until towards the end and wished that I hadn't because it just kind of burned onto the wings. But still, very good recipe and I'm really really glad I tried them! **Made this again without basting with honey; turns out the sauce doesn't stick to the wings as well! Next time I will baste them as I did the first time - toward the end of grilling.

Grilled Romaine Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2009
I tried grilled romaine hearts at a restaurant and loved it so much I had to make it at home! I didn't use shallots for the vinaigrette - i just made a simple 2:1 balsamic vinaigrette with added honey, a little lemon juice, garlic, and italian seasoning. I topped the hearts feta cheese and red onion. I know this isn't the recipe but I still wanted to put up a review. Also, I don't find it necessary to put the olive oil on the lettuce before grilling - it's just added calories, the lettuce is fine on it's own. A lot of the bitterness in the thicker parts of the leaves go away with cooking.

Creamy Italian White Bean Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2009
This is such a quick recipe for such an elegant soup! I loved this. I used chicken broth in place of the water and added more garlic. I also used a dollop of sour cream when I added the blended mixture to the soup. It gave the soup a great color and added a subtle creamy taste! I will definitely make this recipe again...it took me only 20 minutes, start to finish.

Campbell's® Tuna Noodle Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2009
This is so easy! I cut the recipe exactly in half and it was great - 1/2 of the recipe is perfect for two people. I added some parmesan cheese also. I will use fewer peas next time, but that is just personal preference - I'm not a huge pea fan and all of the casseroles I've had before seemed like they had fewer peas too. I will definitely use this recipe forever.

Krystal's Perfect Marinade for BBQ or Grilled Chicken

Reviewed: May 30, 2010
I really liked this! Easy marinade and if you boil the marinade afterwards it makes a great sauce. I also want to mention that I did not grill my chicken with this marinade. I baked it in the oven with some olive-oil/herb drizzled potatoes. It was really delicious and the potatoes were fabulous! I still used the marinade (reheated) as a sauce over the chicken, and I also put some on some steamed carrots, which was delicious, too! That's how I prepared this dish :)

Cajun Spice Mix

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2009
Great cajun seasoning! However, I too cut the salt in half, and used Italian seasoning instead of oregano (because I didn't have plain oregano). I used this for the Hudson's Baked Tilapia with Dill Sauce recipe from this site (I reviewed that, too). I didn't add the red pepper flakes but I wish I had once I made it! It would have added the perfect amount of heat -- don't hesitate to use it if you like spicier cajun seasoning! I will be using this recipe a lot in the future! One of the best simple recipe I've found in a while. I'm going to end up using it on everything ;D
