About this Cook
I live in LA County with my boyfriend and we both work and go to school. I really enjoy cooking meals for us and trying new things. My aim is to make him enjoy all the same foods I do :P I am into music, fashion, exercise, cooking, healthy lifestyles, and learning.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook just about anything. I enjoy cooking dinners the most, and I usually cook typical American cuisine, e.g. salads, seafood, casseroles, pastas, grilling, this and that, etcetera, but occasionally I try something different or ethnic to keep it from becoming boring. I haven't had too much experience baking and I'm kind of apprehensive to begin trying! Baking definitely has more potential for disaster because you have to get the recipe and the cooking/baking just right. I would like to try nicely-presented dishes or really fancy cuisine, just for fun! **Update: I've tried baking and I LOVE it.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love the holidays!!! All holidays!
My cooking triumphs
I've found that cooking is so much easier than it seems, but it just takes practice! Once you start to actually learn and taste the differences between the flavors you add to dishes, it's all downhill from there!
My cooking tragedies
Anything I made when I began cooking, and some experimental dishes.

White Bean Fennel Soup
Pretty good; I added some extra beans, garlic, carrots, and Italian seasoning. It was my first recipe with fennel and I liked it! This recipe could be a little bland if you stick with the exact measurements.

Butternut Squash Bake
This is an excellent recipe! The only thing I did different was cutting the onion into wedges instead of mincing it -- I think it gave the dish a better presentation. I will definitely use this recipe again! Even my boyfriend, who isn't very fond of squash nor blue cheese, liked it a lot!

Seared Ahi Tuna Steaks
This is a reliable recipe for seared ahi. I don't use the whole peppercorns, but I do use coarse-ground black pepper and add white pepper. This seems intimidating but be sure to use fresh tuna and it will come out excellent!
