Shredded Pork Taco Filling

Reviewed: May 17, 2012
This was just okay for me. I followed the recipe exactly but the pork itself did not have a lot of flavor. I even shredded the meat and let it sit in the broth (which was very flavorful) for 3 or 4 hours. Needed a lot of extras on top to make a good meal. Thanks for posting though. Forgot to say that I used the meat for sopes (please see my picture) rather than tacos but I don't think that this would make any difference

Best Ever Slow Cooker Italian Beef Roast

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2012
I rarely use processed/packaged food but I needed something that I could throw into the slow cooker with little preparation so I decided to try this one. I made the recipe exactly as stated and could not be happier. This was absolutely delicious. I can't wait until tonight to use the leftovers for french dip sandwiches. Thanks so much for posting this recipe. We love it and will use it a lot.

Beer Batter Deep Fried Dill Pickles

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2012
These are unbelievably good. I fell in love with fried pickles at the AllRecipes Southern Round up in Florida. I never thought that I would be able to make these better than the ones that I had there but this recipe does it. I was a little worried when reading the recipe beccause I always dredged my food in the flour first, then in the beer batter. This recipe calls for just the opposite. So, I compromised, I dredged in the flour then in the batter and then again in the flour. I cannot believe how crispy this batter was. Even after sitting on the table for 30 minutes or so the breading was incredibly crisp. I am going to try using this recipe on fish and shrimp to see if it will remain crisp. This is definitely my go to fried pickle recip from now on. Thank you so much for posting.

Smashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2010
I am so sorry but I just didn't care for these potatoes. I was so looking forward to trying them but when I was eating them I kept picking out pieces of rosemary from my mouth. I must say that I followed the recipe exactly. I did not change anything. If I made them again, I might whizz the herbs in my mini processor and add maybe a little cayenne or cajun/creole seasoning. Thanks so much for posting your recipe.

Cheddar Pecan Wafers

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2009
These were good. Had the consistency of a cookie. Very crumbly. I think it would be difficult to dip these or spread something on them as they would break up very easily. By the way, if you make a half recipe you can put these in the food processor and it makes very easy work of this recipe. Wouldn't try it with a full recipe (okay I did) but my big cuisinart couldn't take it.

Dry Rub Ribs

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2012
I just loved this rub. I have to say that I did add salt. I think that it enhances the flavor of the other ingredients. My hubby loves sauce so I put BBQ sauce on his. I ate mine with just the rub. I gave mine a 5 star rating. He gave his a 4 said that the herbs interfered with the BBQ sauce. That bein said I think that this recipe is Da Bomb. Love it and will continue to use it. Thank you so much for posting.

Plum Buckle

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2010
Made this tonight for my DH and SIL, (sorry I don't care for desserts). They both gave this a solid 5 stars and said that it was really delicious. DH really wanted a second piece but he was already too full. I made this recipe exactly as posted. Thanks so much for posting this recipe. I will keep it in regular rotation, as it was fairly easy to make.

Brunch Egg Bake

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2012
I am getting ready to make this for the second time. This is really yummy. The only issue that I had was with the flour. If you add it as the recipe states it will be lumpy. I did and then had to try to remove the lumps and some of the liquid and shook it all up in a jar. No lumps. Also used fresh mushrooms and added pepper jack cheese. Leftovers can be reheated for a very quick breakfast. Thanks for posting

Progresso® Easy Chicken Cacciatore

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2012
My hubby really liked this. The only reason that I did not give this 5 stars is that the sauce is quite runny. I had to let it simmer for quite some time in order to get a sauce that would stick to the chicken. This is a very easy and convenient recipe and in a push I would make this for my hubby again.

Soft-N-Fluffy Hamburger Buns

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2010
I have now made these buns 3 or 4 times and have to say that they are the best buns ever. I don't understand the comments that these will not stand up to a hamburger. Every time that I have made them I used them for hamburgers and they were perfectly fine. They did not fall/break apart and held up until the last bite. I should say though that when I make them I do not use the Vital Wheat Gluten. I have always made them using white AP or Bread flour so do not find the VWG necessary. Would certainly use it if replacing part of the white flour with whole wheat. Thanks WFDM for posting this recipe, it will remain my go to recipe for burger buns.

Shooter Sandwich

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2012
This was a delicious sandwich. I changed it a little but loved it. Round steak is a tough cut of meat to use whole so used a tri tip and sliced it. Didn't like the thought of cold mushrooms and onions so I did not weight it down and just ate it hot. Loved it. thanks so much for posting the recipe

Olive and Blue Cheese Ball

Reviewed: May 20, 2010
This was unbelievably good. I love to take pictures of the food I make from AR, but, we had already eaten half of it before I could get my camera out. I will try next time to be faster. Believe me something has to be really good for me to give a 5 star rating. I used a combination of Roquefort and an English cheese called Shropshire Blue. Wow. Otherwise I didn't change a thing. Thanks so much for posting this recipe.

Batman's Best Caesar Dressing

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2009
When I first make a recipe from AR, I like to make it as written so that I can give a fair review. I feel like others that it was a little tart. Next time I will cut the lemon juice in half. I also, like other reviewers, found the dressing really runny. After tasting the original recipe, I added a coddled egg. (This is a whole egg boiled for one minute to kill any salmonella that may be present). I added the whole coddled egg to the dressing and blended. This thickened up the dressing really well. Made it much better as a salad dressing, in my opinion. Thank you for posting the recipe.
