Carrot Fritters

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2012
Wow, sorry but these were not what I expected especially after reading the reviews I cooked these exactly as written and was very disappointed. I thought that they would be crispy like tempura, but they were very soggy. They were also bland. Will probably not make again without major tweaks.

Italian Bread III

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2012
Very nice bread. I don't use a bread machine so I mixed it with my KitchenAid and let it rise until doubled. I then shaped it into a round loaf, slit the top and let it rise again. I baked it at 400 degrees for 30 minutes. Will make again. thanks for posting the recipe

Poires Au Vin Rouge (Pears in Red Wine)

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2012
This was good. I used a wine that was made by Hand Craft and it was a Petite Syrah. Very fruity wine. I had to boil the wine for a long time to get it to coast the back of a spoon. By the time it was done my stove was a mess. We enjoyed the recipe. Thanks so much for posting.

Daddy's 'If They'da had This at the Alamo we would'ha WON!' Texas Chili

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2012
We really liked this chili although I have to day that I reduced the amounts because there are only 2 of us here. I think that the biggest change that I made to this recipe was to not add any water. Everything else I did as instructed. I just did not think that any water was necessary. We loved it. Served it with hot dogs cheese and green onions. Thanks so much for posting the recipe.

Vernell's Slaw

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2012
This was a nice basic slaw recipe. It was a little sweet for me even though I cut down on the sugar because I don't like sweet stuff. Hubby though does like sweet stuff and it just got a "yeah it was yummy from him" I know that that does not mean 5 stars. Thanks for posting the recipe.

Algerian Flafla (Bell Pepper Salad)

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2012
Made this with red bell peppers as hubby does not like the green ones. He said that this was not as flavorful as he thought that it would be but then I did make this in February. I will try again in the summer with better tomatoes and see how he likes it. Thanks for posting the recipe.

Golden Potato Rounds

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2012
I thought that this recipe was surprising. I really liked these although I was expecting them to be a little sweet because of the cornflakes but they were not. I loved them right out of the oven, however, it did not take very long to lose the initial crunch once out of the oven. Thanks for posting the recipe.

Ham Pan Sandwiches

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2012
This was okay for me, not great. I wanted it to be crispy but it was not. Have to say that I left out the worcestershire sauce because it just seemed so much compared to the amount of egg. Thanks for posting the recipe.

Potato Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2012
I do not own a bread machine. I prefer to make bread using my KA. This is the method that I used. I put the water in the KA and added the yeast. Mixed it up and then added all the other ingredients. I did not use all of the sugar, I thought when reading the recipe that the sugar was excessive and cut it down to 1 teaspoon. It worked out much better. I baked it at 400 degrees for about 25 minutes, after brushing the bread with beaten egg white. This turned out very well. (see photo). This bread is a lot like white bread from the store, when you bite into it is a little chewy. Thanks so much for posting the recipe

Double Flavor Fudge

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2012
First I must say that I don't eat sweets, but my hubby does. He said that he could not taste the butterscotch chips in this. He also said that it was still pretty good. I rated it a 4 because I had this in the microwave for 6 minutes and it still wasn't melted. I was afraid that some of the chocolate may burn so I heated some water in a pot and put the bowl over the water until all was melted. So what should have taken about 5 minutes finished up taking me about 30 minutes. Thanks for posting the recipe.

Connie's Southern Style Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2012
I was really surprised by this recipe. I usually add tons more stuff to chicken and dumplings and made this as a faceless recipe for the AllRecipes Allstar faceless recipe challenge. I really loved it. I made it as written and I also made carrots, potatoes, onions, celery, thyme on the side cooked in the same broth. I really liked the original recipe the best (and we love veggies). This will be my go to chicken and dumpling recipe. I must say also that I have never fixed flat dumplings, only the round ones. I had to get help from the Recipe Buzz but they showed me how to make the dumplings. (they should be rolled out to about 1/8th of an inch.) Thanks so much for posting the recipe.

Muddy Hearts

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2012
These were good cookies, but I thought that they would be really easy to make. Unfortunately, and maybe this is my fault, getting the chocolate to look really good on the cookie is very difficult. Sorry, but thanks for posting the recipe.

Bacon Chicken Livers

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2012
I thought that these were really yummy. The only reason that I did not rate this a 5 star recipe is the broiling of the livers. After about 5 minutes of broiling the bacon was burning and my house was getting smoked out. I turned off the broiler and baked them at 450 degrees until the bacon was crisp. Maybe 10 more minutes. Thanks for posting the reccipe

Easy Breakfast Sausage Burgers

A very hearty breakfast. Hubby loved them. I thought that the dill pickle kind of overpowered all the other tastes. Next time I will leave it off of mine. Thanks for posting the recipe.

Sorry but we thought that these were bland. If I make them again I would probably tweak them and them and add some parmesan or maybe some jalapeno. Thanks for posting the recipe
