Southern Roundup Part 4

Serious male bonding.  Tim said he is going to get his own AR membership so soon we will able able to talk to him.  He was so much fun to be around.  :Lots of laughs.4

This is GDerrs Bourbon Chocolate Pecan Pie.  He made this for lunch when Cindy and I were at his house.  We brought it with us.  He made me promise to try a bite even though I don't like sweets.  Oh my, this is a seriously delicious pie.  You have to try it.  I brought a piece home for hubby and he loved it.

You can't see this too well, but Cindy and I went out late one night to write ALLRECIPES in the sand.  We took our time and did a great job.  We went back to the condo to take a peek and then the garbage truck came along and wiped out all of our efforts.  I got up the next morning and did this but not nearly so well as our previous effort.

Our last night.  We went out to dinner and had GUESS WHAT  You got it.  OYSTERS

It's funny a lady came over to us and said she had heard us talking and that she was a member of AR.  Also when we were at the Hunt's Oyster bar, the cashier was also an AR member.  Her name is CharmingCindi, so if you see her.  Say Hi.

Well this is it folks.  The end of our roundup, but I have to say that we had a wonderful time.  From the first minute meeting Cindy, to the last minute saying goodbye to GDerr at the airport, I can honestly say that I was with family.  It felt as if we had all known each other for 30 years and I am sure that we will meet again, maybe not soon on my part but it will happen.  I already miss them too much to stay away for long.  Wish you all could have been there, maybe you can make the next one.

You know you are all invited here for the Mo roundup next year but it is so not as cool here as the lovely pictures I have just seen. About Me
I am semi retired. My husband and I both retired at the same time and moved to Brookings to be near the ocean and my sil. I couldn't stand the thought of staying home and cleaning house all day so I got a part time job. I now work 3-4 days a week and it keeps me busy.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook all kinds of things. I try out new recipes all the time and I even cook lots of things that I don't personally like, for instance I do not like sweets but I bake cakes, cookies and breads for my friends and neighbors. I am an Allrecipes Allstar Brand Ambassador(a voluntary position) and I’m not compensated for my work with Products received from advertiser are only used for experienced-based reviews on - Thoughts from my Kitchen. The reviews, content and opinions expressed in this blog are purely the sole opinions of me, pelicangal aka Jan Elton
My favorite family cooking traditions
I always make beef wellington for Christmas.
My cooking triumphs
Winning the Best in show and the Judges choice ribbons along with 11 other blue ribbons at the 2006 Curry County Fair. They were for canning. My pickle relish won Judges choice and my pineapple marmalade won best in show.
My cooking tragedies
Too numerous to list here in only 1000 characters. But one is when my husband and I were first together, I stayed home from work to cook his favorite meal (spaghetti and meatballs). I had just tried to open a can of tomato sauce when the can exploded and I was covered with it. He came home at just that minute and he about burst an artery from laughing.
