Holiday Pumpkin Cake with Rum-Cream Cheese Glaze

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2015
Ironically, I've never made this cake. However, I love the glaze! I reworked the amounts to use as a drizzle over my famous pumpkin pie.

Dry Rub for Ribs

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2015
I really like how easy this is. I actually use it for stew meat for a soup I make. However, I don't put brown sugar in. It gives the soup just the right amount of kick!

Quinoa and Black Beans

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2015
There's only 1 reason this isn't a 5 star recipe to me: way too much cilantro! The 2nd time I made this, I cut the original amount in half and still felt it was too much. Maybe I'm overly sensitive to cilantro (I don't think so), but I think I'll try this without cilantro at all- I like everything else.

Mushroom Lentil Barley Stew

I'm a big fan of this soup. I like to add stew meat. I also really like how simple this is to make.

Graham Cracker Crunch Topping

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2014
This was awesome!! I used it on my pumpkin pie as a topping with powdered sugar for a holiday dessert where some family is allergic to nuts (pie recipe has a nut topping), and everyone loved it- even better than the nut topping. And, any extra is fun to eat as "candy."

Classic Shepherd's Pie

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2014
Great recipe! Easy to substitute various veggies (I don't care for cooked carrots). I used peas and corn. Also made a pie with ground spicy pork- the potato softens the bite. Although, I did have to play around with the potato amounts, but that doesn't change the rating. Recommended.

Brown Family's Favorite Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2013
If I could give 10 stars, I would. I receive nothing but rave reviews whenever I make this pie; friends, family, coworkers have all loved it! Whenever there's a potluck style function, this is what I bring. While I like the walnut topping, I like mixing it up a little and changing the topping.

Bandito Beans

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2013
It turned out great! I added ground pork to "beef" it up a little, and red pepper for a little color...almost didn't have room in my small crock-pot! This'll be in my regular rotation of meals.

No Bake Pumpkin Pie I

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2011
If I could select a 6th star I would! I love how simple this is to make. Every so often it comes out a little runny, but I think that's my fault. I've tried a few variants like adding chocolate or banana- made for some interesting tastes, but those would probably have a better texture baked the traditional way. I have taken to adding a secret ingredient that everyone seems to absolutely love including me. I enjoy offering to bring dessert to dinner gatherings now as I know what I'll be bringing!

Swiss Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2011
I love how simple this recipe is, especially since I haven't been cooking for very long. Although, I found 2c of bread crumbs to be overkill- so I cut it back to 1c. I've been making this one consistently for a few weeks.
