Diane's Kitchen Sink Salsa
2nd wedding in Vegas
About this Cook
I have been married 9 times, 8 to the same man and I have two great teen-aged kids whom I love to cater to with my cooking. I have a family of very big eaters, so I am always looking on how to make meals stretch. I spend quite a bit of time putting ingredients from my cupboard in the search to see what new, inventive things I can try. Thanks to all of you for your contributions!
My favorite things to cook
I have an Italian background, so I have traditional recipes that I find comforting. I like to try new dessert recipes since we are always looking for something sweet after dinner.
My favorite family cooking traditions
We grew up fairly poor, many of the traditional dishes I cook are loaded with carbs and little meat. Meals that can stretch for leftovers the next day. I cook alot of sauces and soups that I freeze to save time and give me a quick meal on a busy day.
My cooking triumphs
I have some popular recipes that I am asked to make again and again. My "Kitchen sink salsa", hot wings, german potato salad, bruschette, and my garlicky macaroni and broccoli are some winners.
My cooking tragedies
My husband and son are so picky, they will not eat vegetables at all outside of corn and ketchup. Makes creativity and cooking healthy impossible.

Gramma Bertha's Banana Cake
I love this recipe because is so so simple and tasty. Ingredients that you can find in your fridge or pantry on any given day. You can leave it stand alone or add vanilla, cinnamon or a glaze if you choose. Thanks for the recipe!

Herb Roasted Pork Loin and Potatoes
Delicious recipe! The only thing I did differently was use 1 clove of chopped fresh garlic. I poked some holes in the top of the meat and pushed a little garlic down into the holes. Made the meat extra flavorful. Thanks for the recipe!

Potato Chip Cookies II
This is a standard recipe from an old church cookbook I have been making for years, we make them for Xmas and dust with powdered sugar, and green and red sprinkles. Thanks for sharing!
