Okay, I think I am a bit off my rocker ¤ but I have become a bit addicted to the Reality Cooking Shows on the Food Network. I have started watching "The Next Food Network Star", "Cupcake Wars" and "Chopped". I also watch the Next "Master Chef"  on (I think) NBC. It is so cool to watch other… MORE

This summer went so fast. I can hardly believe it is now September and the start of school! I am trying to get back on the wagon with my diet-no it is my special eating plan. Diet seems to bring about bad reactions from everyone.  I really hate baking during the summer because of the heat and… MORE

My family had a very unusual Easter meal. It was a late afternoon meal and each one of us contributed a recipe. My contribution was Deviled Eggs and White Chocolate Fruit Tart (found on AR). My daughter made her first loaf of bread, which was a little dense and quite flat, but flavor… MORE

I am creating a scrapbook to highlight the countdown to my 40th high school reunion in July 2010. During the countdown I will also be losing weight. Twenty five pounds needs to find their way off of my body. I found a picture of myself from 30 years ago and 50 + pounds lighter. I am half way… MORE

I have found during this part of the year, just before spring, that I am very sluggish. It is like I don't want to do anything. I do not want to back slide because I have lost 25 pounds so far and people are commenting on how good I look. I have to come up with some kicks in the butt to get me… MORE

About Me
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake, especially during the fall and winter when it is cool outside. I am always looking for scone recipes. I live in apple country so I also like apple recipes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My son, who loves to cook, and I like to cook Thanksgiving Dinner together. My son is always trying to invent something wild and crazy. His recipes are usually pretty tasty.
My cooking triumphs
Two of my recipes seem to be in demand where ever I take them. Corn Casserole and Sour Cream Apple Pie.
My cooking tragedies
Well, this may or may not be such a tragedy. I use to use Pillsbury pie crust dough for all my pies. . I know very lazy of me. However, in the last six months I have been very disappointed in the Pillsbury pie dough. I haven't been able to unroll it and end up re-rolling it. Doesn't save me any time, so I am back to making my own pie dough, using canola oil instead of Crisco. I am glad I switched.
