I usually take new recipes to work to get honest critiques from my co-workers. After reading reviews from this recipe and the BLT dip alson on this site, I became a little hesitant. But, I used this recipe, using 1 can of fire roasted tomatoes that I drained and pureed in my food processor; also added 1/2 packet of dry ranch dressing. I heated packaged bacon bits and mixed all together. Refrigerated over night. Here's where I think the secret lies: I spread the dip on a plate, put shredded lettuce around the edge, additional bacon bits in the center with 1 finely dice fresh tomato (drained on paper towels overnight). Served this with pita chips. The entire recipe was devoured in short order. Everyone (guys and gals alike) reported this to be delicious and I should put it on my "bring to work" list anytime! Thanks Terri, for the great recipe!

Colored Sugar

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2010
If you put it in a small food processor or chopper, not only does the color mix well, but you end up with a finer grain of colored sugar. It doesn't take as much sugar when decorating and we like the finer texture.

Microwave Corn on the Cob

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2009
Been cooking it this way for several years. At first, wrapping each ear in plastic wrap and twisting the ends. But then came across a microwave steamer-type container that holds two ears. You put a very small amount of water in the bottom and it steams both ears in 5-Min with no need to turn the corn. Whichever method you use, the corn is great and the clean up is almost non-existent!

Asian Rainbow Trout

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2009
I took the tips of others and used brown sugar and sesame oil. The weather was great so we grilled the trout outside. What a success! The flavors are well balanced. My only suggestion would be to make 1 1/2 times the recipe. Served with Fresh Peach Salsa from this site, using mango instead of peaches and adding some fresh pineapple and a few strawberries. Thanks for a great recipe!
