About this Cook
I am a stay at home mom of a soon to be 3 yr. old girl. I have been using allrecipes for over a yr, but just recently joined. I enjoy being at home with my family, but like to let loose on the wkends by going to concerts. I also do the merchandising for my boyfriend's local metal band. I enjoy cooking for just me and the family, but i also love inviting friends to try my cooking.
My favorite things to cook
I am not the best cook, but boy can I bake!!! Some of my best dishes come form this site. I love to bake cookies and desserts. When it come to main dishes, i like simple and easy recipes that i can handle. I hate to make chicken. I enjoy a lot of spice in my food, so mexican dishes are some of my favs.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love to make home cooked meals from my childhood, meatloaf, spaghetti, hamballs, homemade pizza, and a lot of other great dishes my mother passed down to me. I always make dozens of sugar cookies during Christmas time to pass out to friends and relatives. My family has always been big on party food and appetizers. So, veggie pizza, lil smokies, and bacon wrapped smokies are a few of them.
My cooking triumphs
Last year I made the Thanksgiving turkey for my in-laws. It turned out great, but i wished my family could have tried it. It was very moist, which can be hard to accomplish i heard. A lot of my triumphs are not even my recipes so i can't take credit for them.
My cooking tragedies
I've had so many, it's hard to remember. Plus i try to forget those times that i screwed something up, cause i get so upset with myself.

Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies I
A great chocolaty cookie. I didn't change a thing except add a few M&M's to the batch. Chewy and delicious!

Old Fashioned Strawberry Pie
First pie ever and it is true that this comes out runny. I even added a little cornstarch to the recipe...about 2-3 tablespoons. I loved it anyway!!!! I used frozen strawberries that i had defrosted almost till soft. I think next time i may add more cornstarch, but we will see after it sits overnight.
