Shepherd's Pie VI

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2011
Everyone asks for my recipe when I share this. I think the secret is the gravy mix.

Comments from my family while tasting this cake: "It melts in your mouth." "This is really an exceptional cake." "Perfectly moist." "Wow." I think that sums it up nicely.

Nonalco Punch

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2010
Perfect recipe! I have tried it with lite cranberry juice and it's just as good. I also prefer to freeze the base (everything except the gingerale) and then let it start to defrost right before the meal/party and then shave it with a spatula to create a slush in the punch. It is a big hit at Thanksgiving every year.

Great recipe. Even better if you leave out the water.

Creamed Cabbage Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2009
My husband loved this soup. I had my doubts because I do not generally like cabbage, but I was pleasantly surprised. The flavors are not powerful or amazing- just subtle and comforting. I would suggest adding an extra cup of chicken broth and another carrot. Just my personal preference.

Grandmas Cowboy Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2009
These cookies taste good, but the recipe will not replace my classic recipes. I followed the recipe exactly and I think it needs a pinch of salt. I also think there are too many flavors going on, but none of them are prevalent enough. Will not make again.

My husband is a tough critic on apple pies. While he was eating his first piece he said, "This is the best pie I've ever had, apple or any kind!"

I like the combination of flavors and I feel the pine nuts are a must. It does require a lot of dishes, though, pots and pans etc.

Easy Vegetable Pot Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2008
Quick, tasty, and easy! I didn't use all the milk to keep my pie nice and thick. I also used a quick homemade crust for the bottom and a crumble crust on the top. Delicious.
