Tasty Sesame Tilapia

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2014
i followed the advice of one previous review and used half as much sesame oil. That worked out very well. Plus, having fresh ginger on hand I chopped it very fine and that gave the recipe a tad bit more zing. My 5 year old granddaughter, a very picky eater, gobbled up this tilapia and asked for seconds! Next time, I'm going to have to use more filets.

Tonya's Terrific Sloppy Joes

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2014
Decreased the catsup by 2 ounces and added 2 ounces of Sweet Baby Rays honey BBQ sauce. Also added two tablespoons of chopped red bell pepper. Served it for my granddaughters 5th birthday party today. The entire family raved over it! Definitely a keeper and will serve it again. Taking a couple of cans of that popular sloppy joe sauce to the food pantry.

Lamb Chops with Balsamic Reduction

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2014
Fantastic! Great directions. The family absolutely loved it. Easy to fix and doesn't take hardly any time at all. I love lamb. So does the family. This is definitely a repeat again recipe.

Kickin' Portobello Dressing

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2013
It was the hit of the feast. I scaled it down for the size of our guest list. Through the years, the family has gotten smaller. Can't say enough good about it. Magnificent.

Roasted Potatoes and Apples

No one liked this at all. Apples and potatoes just don't go together but I gave it a whirl. Sorry.

Artichoke Spinach Lasagna

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2009
This is the best spinach lasagna I have ever had. My wife and son just loved it. I also took two big helpings, hot from the oven, over to the Obama campaign HQ here in town to two wonderful young campaign workers from Hawaii and California who hadn't had home cooking for months. They were tickled to see metal utensils! And they loved the lasagna! The californai "girl" is a vegetarian and she just raved! Served it with a fresh romaine salad, and a nice glass of fresh locally made apple cider.

Rotini with Shrimp

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2008
I cut the lemon and dill in half and it was still way too much. The lemon flavor out weighed everything else, tremendously. This recipe would have been much better with a different pasta. The family was not thrilled with it nor did they turn their noses up. It was just okay and not a keeper for me.

Sweet, Sticky and Spicy Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2008
Excellent! I had no problem getting the sauce to thicken. I did cut the garlic, soy sauce and hot sauce in half due to our own taste preferences and low salt diets. But we loved it just the same. Great with a glass of 2% milk, egg noodles, fresh garden salad and chilled fruit.
