A-Number-1 Banana Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2010
AMAZING. Made it for work in a 9 X 13 pan. topped it with caramel syrup at last minute. Was moist and sweet and yummy. Didnt use nuts due to the fact it was for an office party and some people might be allergic. But will use them next time when I make it for home. Not at all dry as some people said. I did use an extra banana which may have been why. GREAT recipe! Thanks

Cherry Swirled Cheesecake

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2010
Just made this and it is soooo super yummy. Did take a short cut and make it in a 9" oreo premade pie crust. If you do this too you need to halve the ingredients. I had a ton of batter left over and I hate to waste food. I barely used half the cherry filling for the puree. but once I let it cool in the fridge overnight i topped it with the some of the left over filling and it looked nice with the whole cherrys on top. Next time I will take the time to make the crust myself. enjoy!

Potato and Bacon Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2009
Great starting recipe! I Omitted celery because my father won't eat it. Used red peppers and red onion. Also left skins on red potatoes. Also I don't know who the people who measured this recipe were feeding but I used 5 lbs of potatoes ad that barely was enough.. Maybe I just make an amazing potato salad but if you plan on really feeded 8 people I would double it! Up Date: Made this again for Memorial Day party tomorrow. I am doing 15 lbs of potatoes. PS this Keeps fine in fridge overnight. FYI for first timers if u got picky eaters mash to cooked yolk in with the mustard and what not till smooth all those egg haters picking out the white will have no idea!

Aunt Bev's Famous Apple Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2009
great Recipe! I did make a few changes 1) because I was pressed for time 2) because some of it is just how I remember my grandmother doing it. I was very young the last time I saw my grandma make a pie but this gave methe basics I needed to try my own. So changes..I used 3/4c white sugar 1/4 brown. I added a TINY bit of cloves and just eyed and tasted for cinnamon n nutmeg. Change 2 I used refridg crust (no time) change 3 I added about a half cup of raisins to the bottom of the pie. they soak up the juice that tends to make the bottom crust mushy and gooy. They plump up with all those yummy juices and add a little something. Also unlike a lot of people I didnt use any butter. But it was very sweet and yummy. Thanks for the great starter!!! I have now added pies to my list of baking

Extreme Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2009
This cake is excellent. I can't even try new recipes because every time I need to make a cake this gets requested! I have never had a problem with this cake. My only change was to the frosting. Because the cake is so sweet I usually cut back on the confectionary sugar in the icing. As it is written it was too sweet for my taste.I like a more bitter chocolate so I went ith about 3 1/2 ups sugar. Just a suggestion. WONDERFUL CAKE!!!!

Red Velvet Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2009
Ihave tried this recipe a few time because it had such great reviews. This just must not be my recipe. the first time I made it the cake was dry and a little bland. The second time I made it I got swirling. the third time I tried the suggested changes others made and it stuck to the pan. Not a sure fire cake I have to say it is being booted from my recipe box.

Texas Sheet Cake V

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2008
I love this cake. Its great for birthday parties. However my cousin is turning 16 christmas eve (what an aweful bday YOU HAVE TO SHARE WIH JESUS he tends to upstage her) SO I want to make her a super special cake this year because her birthday is often lost in the holiday celebrations. I was wondering if I could do this as a round layer cake for a different kind of presentation. She requested a chocolate chocolate cake and this is one of my better recipes but I dont want to mess it all up the night before and start over. so bottom line 2 9" round pans ok?

This is a great easy recipe. But due to the differences in one microwave to the next make sure to keep a close eye on it the first time you make it.The times are about right and may need adjusting. Otherthan that this is a great recipe I will keep in my christman line up

Diego's Special Beef Stew

I love this recipe! Feeds a house full of hungry men. I usually add extra beef carrots and potatoes. But other than that I wouldn't change anything. Also good with bread bowls

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2008
These are not only my favorite cookies but my biggest curse. Now anytime I go anywhere everyone requests these cookies. My younger sisters high school basket ball team had a bake sale and these sold out in an hour and I had quadrupled the recipe! I warn you these cookies are highly addictive to all parties involved.

New England Blueberry Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2008
This cake is great. the first time i made it the center wasnt cooked though. So I usually put the cake in the oven for about 5 minutes before i add the topping. then i leave the cake in an extra ten minutes. that ensures the centers done without burning the topping. Boyfriend and family love it
