About this Cook
Single mom of five, all grown but one now so cooking is down to a minimum.I like to stay busy with crafts and cooking.Making gifts for friends.
My favorite things to cook
Deserts are my favorite and baking bread, muffins cookies and cakes.I just discovered the art of canning. I have stuck to simple things so far.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I started this when my children were little and it has continued through the years. Only on the first day of school I make the kids a feast. Whatever they want for breakfast they get. Homemade biscuits and gravy, muffins, frenchtoast, sausage and eggs etc..
My cooking triumphs
I tried making my moms Watermelon Rind Pickles They came out so good. Just like I remembered from when I was a kid.
My cooking tragedies
I recently tried making an Olive and Sundried Tomato Bread. I dont know what happened but it was horrible. The bread didn't rise up and was gooey in the middle and hard on the outside. Yuck.

Slow Cooker Cranberry Roast
I made this today. I knew it would be a busy day so I started it in the morning and just left it.I was so surprised that all my picky eaters loved it and it gave me a chance to finish off the homemade cranberry orange sauce I made for thanksgiving

Orange Fluff I
This was very good. I made it for a family bbque and everyone loved it. I did put the cottage cheese through a blender first and squeezed all the juice from the oranges and pineapple. It withstood the ninety degree heat. Will definitely make this again.
