Oregon Salmon Patties

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2009
Excellent! Changes: I added 2 cloves of garlic and did not use any reserved liquid. I used ritz crackers. Served with the lemon sauce for salmon patties (another Allrecipe), these were a big hit for the whole family and will be made often.

Basic Crepes

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2009
I had never made crepes before but wanted to try it for a special birthday breakfast for my husband. These turned out great. I made a sweet filling using 8 oz cream cheese, 1/2 c powdered sugar, and 1/2 tsp lemon juice. I topped the crepes with a homemade strawberry topping. My husband said it tasted like "heaven in his mouth."

Taco Seasoning I

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2009
I was surprised by how good my taco meat tasted with this seasoning, as compared to the taco seasoning packet that I have always used in the past. I will use this recipe from now on--no changes.

Texas Caviar with Avocado

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2010
I made this last night for my husband and myself, and we could not get enough. It is DELICIOUS! I have made similar salads but this one was unique with the black-eyed peas and the avocado. The only variations I made were to use one can black-eyed peas and one of black beans (as the recipe submitter mentioned in their review), and we added some fresh cilantro (about 1/2 c) as another reviewer suggested b/c we are big cilantro fans.

Chicken Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2009
Really tasty chicken--I made only 2 changes after reading many reviews. I used 1 T season salt and coated the chicken in flour, then egg, then the crumb mixture. It was especially delicious the next day, just eaten cold out of the fridge for lunch. Would be an ideal leftover to pack in a lunchbox.

Lemon Sauce for Salmon Patties

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2009
Very, very good on salmon patties. I didn't change a thing and my entire family loved it--husband, kids, and even my parents who came for a visit. I agree with another reviewer who said not to skip the cayenne. It is so good with that subtle kick.

Yummy Honey Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2009
Absolutely delicious. I followed the recipe except I didn't have time to marinate very long and it still turned out amazing. My young children loved the chicken. Will be making this a permanent family favorite.

Black Bean and Couscous Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2010
This is probably the best AllRecipe I have discovered so far. My husband and I are addicted to this salad! We have already made it several times and just love, love, love it. The dressing is so, so good--we do double it as several other reviewers recommended. Other than that, don't change a thing.

Spicy Black Bean Potato Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2010
Really, good potato salad. I love that it is a little different from traditional potato salad, especially the spicy kick. We will make this again.

Unbelievable Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2009
This recipe is aptly named and has become my favorite chicken recipe. The only change I make is that I only marinate the chicken for 30-45 minutes. It is WONDERFUL!

Grilled Salmon I

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2009
This was outstanding salmon. My husband and I both agree that it is the best salmon we have ever had, and we lived in Alaska for years, where we had all kinds of good salmon. Even my 3 young children ate it up, and they are not big on fish. I highly recommend you give this one a try.

Savory Deviled Eggs

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2010
I don't like dill so didn't have any, but these deviled eggs were delicious even without it. I always use this recipe now (minus the dill weed).

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2008
This recipe worked well for cutouts but I did have to generously flour everything to keep it from being too sticky. As many reviewers mentioned, they are not very sweet--which is ideal when you plan to put icing on them. (My 5-star rating is based on these cookies WITH icing.) They held their cutout shape perfectly when baked and came out looking great.

Butterscotch Gingerbread Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2008
My husband and I both decided these are our new favorite cookies. They are incredibly good when warm from the oven and with a glass of milk. All of my young children (8,6,3) loved them, too. Based on some reviews, I used less butterscotch chips, but I am going to try using the whole bag as called for next time b/c we really enjoyed the way they compliment the gingerbread.

Jalapeno Popper Spread

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2008
WOW! My husband and I both LOVED this recipe! After reading all of the reviews, particularly the review by the original recipe submitter, I decided to make the spread according to the recipe the first time. It was absolutely delicious. Many of the changes made by other reviewers, such as adding other cheeses or additional seasoning, are sure to be delicious but just make this into a jalapeno cheese dip. If you want the authentic popper taste, follow this recipe. We did add 4 oz of jalapenos as the recipe submitter said in her review that she does. I am sensitive to spicy food and this was a little too hot for me, so next time I will make it with only 3 oz of jalapenos. Also, as the spread cooled, the layer of parmesan on top did kind of toughen up, so next time I will stir 1/2 or more of the parmesan into the spread and then sprinkle the rest on top. We ate the spread on sliced, toasted baguette and also tried it with Ritz crackers. I highly recommend the sliced baguette. This spread is sure to be a hit at social gatherings! I will make it again and again.

Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2008
This is a great recipe: easy, easy, easy, and so good. I used KC Masterpiece Original bbq sauce and fresh made-at-home Italian dressing (Good Seasons). My kids loved this served on buns. I highly recommend this recipe.
