WOW! My husband and I both LOVED this recipe! After reading all of the reviews, particularly the review by the original recipe submitter, I decided to make the spread according to the recipe the first time. It was absolutely delicious. Many of the changes made by other reviewers, such as adding other cheeses or additional seasoning, are sure to be delicious but just make this into a jalapeno cheese dip. If you want the authentic popper taste, follow this recipe. We did add 4 oz of jalapenos as the recipe submitter said in her review that she does. I am sensitive to spicy food and this was a little too hot for me, so next time I will make it with only 3 oz of jalapenos. Also, as the spread cooled, the layer of parmesan on top did kind of toughen up, so next time I will stir 1/2 or more of the parmesan into the spread and then sprinkle the rest on top. We ate the spread on sliced, toasted baguette and also tried it with Ritz crackers. I highly recommend the sliced baguette. This spread is sure to be a hit at social gatherings! I will make it again and again.
